Pros: fold in the floor seating
Cons: gas millage
Advice: take 30% off the mileage on the window stickerVan felt solid and drove well with good proformance.
Pros: comfort of front seats
Cons: in need of constant repairs.
Advice: Just don't buy one.....keep your sanity. We bought our Grand Caravan Sport in July/03. Before it had 13,000kms on it, the brake roters died on it and had to be replaced. The front strut mount went after 13 months. It just went again....9 months later!!! Brakes are totally worn out now too. The plastic cupholders broke after months. This van is a terrible waste of money. Honda CRV....here we come. I will NEVER own an American made vehicle again!
Pros: big, comfortable, u can chill with lot of ppl :)
Cons: transmission. quality of the car
Advice: dont buy it after 60000 mile. transmissionI purchased this car used.from an Auction. But I had so many problems.1 safety recall.Because of steering wheel.and the biggest problem is transmission.I changed it TWICE. Dont buy a dodge minivan after 60000 mileage...
Cons: cost of repairs
Advice: stay awayDrives good. Comfortable on long trips. I have had numerous and very expensive problems with my 2001 Grand Caravan. The two most recent are both window motors went out within a week of each other and A/C problems. The motors will cost over $500 to repair. The A/C has a problem with the drivers side regulation of cold air. Apparently there is a door stuck internally and the hot and cold air mix resulting in a very uncomfortable summer. This problem alone is estimated to cost $700 because the dash must be removed. The dealer and Dodge/Chrysler have refused any assistance. I paid $24K for this vehicle and will never buy another Dodge/Chrysler product.
Pros: Stoll-away seating and large enough cargo room to carry full 4x8 sheets.
Cons: nothing, Its just a great Van.
Advice: Well worth your time to look into. The salesman I had spent lots of time showing me all the different options and helping me figure out what I really wanted in a van. He was very patient we me and answered all my questions. It was the best riding van I tested
Pros: the style
Cons: trade in value
Advice: Buy a toyota sienna or a Honda minivanMy car is a 2005 dodge caravan sxt. The selling price of my minivan after taxes was $20000. A week latter, with only 200 miles, I tried to trade in for a toyota sienna. The most I got for my car was $13,500. The Toyota finance manager called Sherman Dodge, the dealer where I purchased my car, they offered only $13000. Dodge caravans have negative quality ratings in consumerreview.com . It is a nice car but I am worried about the longterm durability of its transmition and engine. I am not happy with my car...but this is the only car that I can affort rigth now. Buy a toyota sienna or a Honda minivan. Those cars will give you peace of mind. Those cars have one of highest posive ratings.
Pros: E85 fuel option is the best
Advice: Stow and Go is the way to goThe drive is quiet and pleasant. There is enough space for multiple children and the midrange motor provided plenty of get up and go.
