i bought my mirage new in ohio. I have the 5 speed hatchback. It did very well in snowy conditions. got 45+ mpg just around town. i moved to california sierra nevada foothills, where the service tech in ohio thought performance would decrease. not so!! my little car loves it here! goes up and down winding, steep grades with plenty of power, and my mpg has not suffered at all! In freeway driving i have gotten close to 60 mpg. I find the interior is plenty roomy, and i enjoy driving it.
Love my Volt, just wish it had a bit more range. 60+ would be ideal.
Does well in snow. Very responsive handling. One of the best slow cars to drive fast. Has never been in for a repair, only regular maintenance.
I love this car, it is getting old though. I was purchased in 2004, it has had many repairs in the last 2 years. But it still runs greatly with 110,998 miles on it.
I wanted the clean diesel to be greener & use less fuel. On the interstate at 70-75 I get around 50 mpg I drove the car for months in congested stop & go traffic, my average mileage ran between 32 to 34 miles a gallon. On rough roads it can be a little loud, but if I am listening to stock sound system, which sounds great, I do not notice it even at low volumes. The motor has a lot more get up and go than I was expecting from a diesel and it handles great in curves. I like it a lot!!
I get very good gas mileage. The only thing I don't like about my car - or the thing I dislike most is the fact that I have to take it to a mechanic to have the transmission fluid checked - there's no dip-stick in the engine which I find very annoying.
