Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Served it's purpose.
Cons: trim fell apart. Tail light problems from the start. Mileage.I like the power. Mileage should have been better. Fun to drive with good tires. Recomend with caution.
To many problems!! Trailblazer SS
Pros: Engine power
Cons: All of the problems from the startBought the 2007 Trailblazer SS New. Needed a battery after the SS wouldn't start after two days parked. Rearend growl, dealer replaced carrier bearing after two times trying to fix. Rear main seal leaked and was repaired by dealer. Power window motors are very slow. Rattles in the interior. Rear main seal is leaking again. All this happened the first 1000 miles after it was purchased. Will never buy again!
Pros: 6.0 liters of refined power
Cons: fit and trim could be better
Advice: good compromise for a sport car lover that has to do the family thing.395 h.p., what more can you say? This 'truck' is great fun to drive. Highway mileage at about 16-17 mpg and city at 14. Good in the snow and can pass just about anything that you want to except a gas station. Intoxicating exhaust sound adds to the experience. 17,000 trouble free miles now and still enjoy it as much as the test drive.
Pros: Everything is laid out in easy reach.
Cons: Overall fit and finish, gas mileage
Advice: Ask for a gas cards for birthdays, holidays and 'just because' days.I've owned this car for 2 years now. I loved it at first, it has great utility features and a very smooth ride. It's absolutely loaded and I do enjoy the features but the quality issues started arising. Paint came off the radio buttons around 10k, chrome accent pieces came off by 20k, the front bumper is warping and its a very sloppy fit and finish. Plus, the rear door weather strip is loose and noticeably hangs in the rear wheel well. There are several squeaks and rattles in the interior. I have 37k on it right now and there is also a hollow clunk when stopping. I take very good care of it and maintain it well but I can't see this vehicle lasting me. The vehicle is a hog on gas and I average 16.5mpg. An SUV enthuaist would appreciate this vehicle but for everyday driving its a bit overkill. Just be prepared to know your gas attendant by name.
Pros: Power and stability and comfortable driver seat when it works.
Cons: Poor trim and a paint job that scratches with very little effort.
Advice: Enjoy the ride and hope you have a dealer that can maintain the little things.Following one year of ownership, the drive is almost as exciting, as any sports car. It should not be said that it is a luxury vehicle. We have been anoyed by the noise from the allwheeldrive system in the front portion of the drive train. The transmission is not very smooth. We have experienced alot of problems with the power seat on the drivers side. The plastic trim on the body portions of the car are attatched poorly and make for poor visual lines and loose fitting attatchments. The front bumper looking plastic is the weakest, loose, poorly fitted trim piece ever.
Pros: 4.2 engine - hard to beat an inline for tuggin power
Cons: fan clutch wines a high pitched noise
Advice: Buy a 2006 - horse power is up to 291 and gives more time to work out bugs.I test drove every mid size SUV out there and settled on a used Trailblazer with 17k miles. The TB has better mileage and power than any I drove and it rides, shifts, handles like a chevy, smooth and powerful. I've had 2 issues, engine would not start in 30 below weather which GM engineers could not figure out and it was NOT freeze up because it would not start even when the temp came back up in the 20's and isopropyl was in the tank. Eventually they got it to run by replacing the throttle body. 2nd issue was it would not shift to 4x4 and this took 2 trys to fix which was a sensor. Other than that I have now had 25k of not a single issue. Mileage is also good for weight of vehicle - 21 highway
