    2002 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 - LS 4x2

Pros: The space, the stereo system and the automatic lights.

Cons: 2nd and 3rd seats not reclining and no outlet for 2nd row seat.

Advice: Check out the features of the vehicle prior to buying it.

I liked the smooth ride and the auto track feature (2wd to 4wd). I didn't like the way you have to get into the 3rd row seat by having the passenger 2nd seat fold forward. Also, the 2nd and 3rd row seats don't recline. There is no outlet in the 2nd row for games/cd player to be hooked up either. It has 2 outlets on the dashboard and one in the trunk compartment (very back of the vehicle).

    2002 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 - LS 4x4

    Pros: The entire truck...

Cons: Limited set of additional options from the manufacturer...

Advice: Test drive other trucks and maybe rent a big SUV first..

Love the truck. I purchased a Z71 version of the truck and it has been a head turner and pure joy to drive. Parking is a little tougher because of the size, but driving is very enjoyable. One option that should be included on all big SUV's is the reverse warning system. Otherwise, pure elation everytime I drive the truck.

    Pros: inside space

Cons: there's nothing not to like

Advice: don't go into analysis paralysis, just buy the thing...

one doesn't need side air curtains and a bunch of feel good safety equipment when one drives 3 tons worth of truck....

    2002 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 - LS 4x4

    Pros: The TRUNK!

Cons: No curtain airbags or headrests and 3 point seatbelts at all seating areas.

Advice: Gas tank is 31 gallons on the 5.3l but the gas doesn't last long, so buy only the engine/tranny size that you will really require.

We bought the 2002 Suburban 1500 4WD two weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the truck. It rides smoothly, and quietly. The interior is well finished off and the controls are easy to use and stereo is powerful. It hugs the road when cornering or braking. I highly recommend the auto ride feature. She towed a 3,500 lb. boat and trailer last week and we couldn't tell it was towing at all! The 3rd row seat is easier to get to than in previous models because the passenger side middle seat slides forward. I am 5'3' and the running boards are a must for ease of entry. The rear is very spacious. A friend of mine owns an Expedition and with the 3rd row seat in place, it can't fit two beach chairs, baseball & track & riding equipment bags (typical 3 children gear) in it. Time will tell whether it holds together like a Toyota or Honda, but we are hopeful!

    2002 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 - LS 4x4

    Pros: Love to drive it.

    Cons: Gasmileage

    Advice: Get it

I have owned the expedition and the older tahoes. They don't compare. Handles great turns easy plenty of power out of the 5.3 I opted to get the Z71 package. We needed a little more room. Overall it is really a nice vehicle. i think the z71 is the best deal over the LS and LT. Doesn't look as long either.
