Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Cons: 6 cylinder engine is underpowered.
Advice: I have sworn off Chevrolets. 2 New Suburbans and 1 New Silverado in last 5 years - all with serious mechanical problems.Engine blowing smoke at 5K miles - took to Dealer and was advised that would do more damage to take apart and find out what was wrong - wanted to wait until engine fails. Refuses to fix problem. Tailpipe still full of carbon, although I haven't seen smoke in a while.
Pros: LT1 features in the cab. A lot for the money.
Cons: Needs more legroom in the rear and cupholders in the rear doors.
Advice: Get one !!!Picked mine up last week. What sold me was how quiet the truck was inside at highway speeds. Very quiet. In addition, the 4.8L V-8 has plenty of power for the work I do. Also, the truck really handles rough terrain very well even though mine is 2WD. Chevrolet definitely got it right.
Pros: Driving comfort.
Cons: Noisy rear side windows. Latch does not close them tight enough. Noisy at about 70+ MPH
Advice: I think this truck will give you the best value out of the big 3, Dodge and Ford. The truck drives like a Cadillac. Very comfortable. 5.3 liter engine provides plenty of pep and power. I tow a 3,000 lbs.+ boat and trailor with ease. I had a handful of small things go wrong during the 3 yr. warranty. The 4 wheel anti-lock brakes take some time to get used to. I use it off-road road at times and it performs very well. Not Baja stuff, you would be better off with the Nisson Titan for that. Over all it's a great truck, right price.
Cons: front end looks
Advice: buy itlove this truck. tried f100 it was harder riding, worse on fuel, much less comfortable had a dodge found the quality to be cheap.
Pros: The ride and seats
Cons: 2 tone
Advice: Get a good salesperson go to BergeysBest truck I've had.
Pros: Alot of room
Cons: To much plastic on the inside
Advice: Won't be dissappointedVery smooth and handles well.
Pros: It's a truck that has the room and comfort of a car
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: Definately get the 5.3 over the smaller V8, gas mileage/performance is betterBought this vehicle new, first new vehicle ever owned. We got it when GM was offering great rebates and got it for about $10,000 off the sticker. I love my truck and the four door configuration means we use it as our 'family' vehicle. It seats 6 people comfortably. My daughter said the back seat feels like an 'easy chair' compared to her grandmother's Nissan Titan, which was stiff and hard. I hate the fact that due to my job being 1 hour away, I am having to consider trading it for a small car for the gas mileage.
