Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The styling, the performance and just the sheer size of it.
Cons: Slightly difficult to park and has a rear blind spot.
Advice: If you want a hard-core rugged performance vehicle that will turn heads, this is the vehicle for you!I was a little unsure about the size of the vehicle having always owned small cars but within one week I was loving every over-sized minute of it!
Pros: Driver's Information Digital readout on instrument panel
Cons: The steering is a little loose right in the center position but it's not a problem once you get used to it. This is my first SUV/truck which is probaly why I noticed this.has a little null area at the center
Advice: Buy the side running boards. I highly recommend you give this SUV a test drive and see for yourself how great a SUV this is.I have a little over 3,000 miles driving on both city streets and highways. The ride is very comfortable on both city streets and highways. I was impressed how nice it takes bumps and irregular pavement on city streets. It drives like a premium car. It's hard to believe it is a SUV. For a mid-size SUV it is very easy to wash. I recommend you get side running boards which make it easier to get in and to reach the topside of the vehicle. It has fantastic engine acceleration and power. My gas mileage does average out to be 14 MPG in stop-and-go city driving; it gets 20-24 MPG on the highway. The worst gas mileage I've had while highway driving is about 20 MPG due to driving through hilly and semi-mountainous areas. I highly recommend you go and test drive the vehicle to find out for yourself how great a SUV this is. I am very happy with my Trail Blazer LTZ purchase. I get many compliments on it's good looks.
Pros: The 5.7 liter 350 horse power V8
Cons: The long heavy doors
Advice: Get the 6 speed manual transmission. The 2002 Corvette coupe is the absolute best bang for your buck in the premium sports car class. It combines throw-you-back-in-your-seat acceleration with tight handling and enough leg and head room for my 6+ foot frame. I actually enjoy driving to work every day!
Pros: Interior appearance
Cons: Some amount of body roll while cornering, just an SUV thing?
Advice: Price check option packages (LS vs LT) buy only what you wantPlenty of power from the inline six. Interior layout is well designed. Rear seats are easy to manuver. Seems to have as much or more interior room as any or the other vechicles we looked.
Pros: Love to drive it.
Advice: Get itI have owned the expedition and the older tahoes. They don't compare. Handles great turns easy plenty of power out of the 5.3 I opted to get the Z71 package. We needed a little more room. Overall it is really a nice vehicle. i think the z71 is the best deal over the LS and LT. Doesn't look as long either.
Pros: The great looking exterior. QTY of extras
Cons: To low to the ground for serious off road excursions.
Advice: Take your time and work the price of car and ext warranty down. I saved 5k off the list and 500 of the ext. warranty. The Tahoe is a great riding SUV. I opted for the Z71 package which is great for towing and off road hobbies. It is very roomy and comfortable and has lots of room for people and equipment. The out side looks are great but even better with the Z71 package as it adds 17' custom wheels, all terain tires, painted bumpers, mirrors and wheel well flares which dresses up the std exterior very nicely. It also seperates you from all the other Tahoes on the road.
Pros: THE RIDE AND CONVERTABILITY
Cons: GAS MILEAGE, BACKING
Advice: BE PREPARED TO GET ABOUT 11 TO 12 MPG AROUND TOWN IN THE 4WD MODEL.THE AVALANCHE HANDLES LIKE A DREAM, MUCH BETTER THAN MY 1500 SILVERADO. ALSO HAS A PLUSH INTERIOR. CANNOT SEE VERY WELL WHEN BACKING. IT NEEDS A BACKING SENSOR TO COME STANDARD.
