Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The compliments I get from everyone who sees it.
Cons: having to get out from behind the wheel.
Advice: Buy this car and don't look back.We looked at Lincolns, Buicks, Chryslers, Toyotas, Nissans and Hondas and NOTHING came close to this car. We finally got the LTZ in black with the 4 cylinder married to a 6 speed. It's quick, smooth and gets 32MPH. People stop in front of my house and get out of their cars to get a closer look. This car is quite, refined and when you first drive it you will think you are in a $40,000 car instead of one I paid $27,000 for.
Cons: Nothing....well...maybe the missing V6, at least the 4 cyl is better on the enviornment.
Advice: Test drive the V6 and the 4 cylinderThe 2008 Malibu.....I LOVED IT! I test drove the V6 first, it was an LTZ model. I then took the LT1 model for a spin, it's got a 4 cylinder engine, WOW!!!!!!!! The 4 banger is just as peppy as the V6. The fuel economy is better and it costs alot less. The bells and whistles and comfortable interior make you forget about the V6 engine missing! XM satellite radio....OnStar....hands free phone....remote car starter.....navigation......and a beautifully designed interior. Who could ask for more? HOT CAR!!!! The body style is WAYYYYYYYY better than before! I didn't like anything about the Malibu prior to it's body style change.
Pros: steareo six disc cd changer
Cons: all the problems i had from day 1
Advice: dont buy this year malibuwell being that the deal went so fast i didnt get ot test drive the car i just viewed it and bought it because dealership was about to close so i just went on apearance being that it was still under factory warranty. big mistake the next day i smelled something burning and it had a leak in the radiator so it was back in the dealer ship the next day for one week.after the that the brakes went bad they busted when i pressed on them and then at times the vehicle would not start. out of a year of having this vehicle ive been in loaner cars most of the time they could not find the problem finally after one year it took another dealership to fix the problem now it seems like the brakes need to be replaced again.and the sunvisor mirror does not work.this has been a real headache the car has been reposessed for some reason im not to upset about that my credit yeah but do i miss the car heck no that car was nothing but trouble from the beginning and im pretty sure that that wasnt goin to be the end
Cons: No leather option on lower end models like the LS
Advice: This one is an absolute bargain for the amount vehicle you get!I have around 4000 miles on my Malibu already and I absolutely love it! I believe this is the best car I've ever owned. GM, thank you, because you obviously did your homework.
Pros: The looks, the power, the tons of amenities, the high quality feel, etc... Overall, I feel like I have purchased a high end luxury car except when I think about the low price tag!
Cons: The transmission shifts a little slowly but adds to the smooth ride. Also, the power mirror controls require a stretch from a driving position.
Advice: Test drive this car! I don't care how many years you have driven a Honda or a Toyota, this new Malibu will knock your socks off!WOW! Chevy has really stepped up to the plate on this one! The new design and features on this Malibu are amazing! Soft supportive leather seats, very quick 252HP V6, tons of room, and the rich looks of an expensive European import. Prior to seeing and driving this car, I have always thought 'boring rental car' when I thought about a Chevy sedan. Well, now I feel spoiled every time I drive my new Malibu. I love all the power features, heated seats, rich lines, extremely quiet and smooth ride, and knowing that I saved thousands over an Accord or Camry comparably equipped!
Cons: body looks too square
Advice: Buy it.... it is a Buy!We bought a new 2007 Malibu LS last july, I am amazed at the gas millege, how quiet it is and how roomy it is for a mid size. My brother had owned two of them and told me to look at it. It is great, I pull it behind our motorhome without any problems. It gets 27-33mpg all the time. The first trip, 1000 miles, averaged 33mpg. I feel it is a great buy for anyone wanting a solid mid size sedan.
Pros: The size, sun roof and spoiler.
Advice: Don't buy oneI purchased my car new in June of 2002. I have had problems the last two years. The car will not start, the anti-theft light comes on and the car will not start for up to 20 min.'s. This happens on a daily basis. I have taken the car to the dealership three times and no problem is detected.
