My 2006 Cobalt
Cons: the rideThis car is now 5 years old and I still owe $7,000 on it! I do not think it will last the 18 more months I have left to pay on it. The a/c is going out and the transmission is going out. I have had it in the shop for recalls three times. I never liked the ride in it because it rides rough like there are no shocks on it. It takes bumps hard. I would not buy another one nor recommend it. Too may times in shop during warranty period.
Pros: gas saver.
Cons: very smallVery reliable car.
My Cobalt best in Initial Quality !!!!!!!!
Pros: low fuel consumption and reliability
Cons: underpoweredBest car in Initial Quality (after one year and 15,000 miles) I ever had in my stable, and as such even better than my 1992 Civic si (and my recently bought Fit Sport, 2010). My stable comprises classics (2xLancia, 1x Alfa, 1x Ferrari, 1x Fiat) plus the Hondas (above) and a Maxima SE (2004). 2 thumbs up for GM !!! Next daily driver; a GM product for sure
Worst vehicle I have owned! This car certainly has some real issues. Not sure of how many recalls it has had, and still waiting for the last to be done. (waiting for parts). I feel that this is a very unsafe vehicle. My daughter also owned a 2005 cobalt, but with so many issues... traded it within a year.
Reliable, Affordable and Fast
Pros: Nice sound system, spirited performance for a 4cyl.
Cons: Small trunk opening.I love my 06 Cobalt SS. It now has 105,000 miles on the clock and has never seen the inside of a shop. I've driven it pretty hard (even taken it to the track a couple of times.) Though she has a few performance mods, she's never given me any problems whatsoever, other than normal wear items like tires and brakes. I average about 29-30 mpg with mixed driving. I had her tuned to run on pricy 93 octane fuel for max hp (stock they only need 91 octane.) It has a nice factory sound system too. For only $17.4K new in 06 it was a real bargain, considering it's combination of excellent reliability, good mileage and great performance.
Great car for the money.
Cons: Break wearIs a great car for the money. Mine has the 2.4 non super charge engine and has plenty of speed. Great handling with the tires and the tight steering.
Pros: heated seats
Cons: front wheel driveGreat Car
