    2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 - LS

    Pros: Versability

Cons: The storage bag for the tournoue cover

Advice: Shop around for the model and try to find someone who has one to talk about it with.

Bought this 2002 Avalanche in August 2002 and have 43300 miles on it now. I have used it for about everything it could be used for. I have pulled a trailer hauling a car with a combined weight of 19400 pounds and could keep up with traffic on a 6% grade and got 11 mpg on the trip of over 800 miles. Put 15 sheets of 3/4' plywood in and 25 2x4's and had no problems at all closing the tailgate and driving over 200 miles to my cabin. Had a friend build a stainless steel ladder rack for it and can haul 20 foot 2x6's. After all that is done I can fold the seats back up and haul 6 full size people very comfortably. Went for 3000 mile trip into Canada for 5 weeks pulling a 26 ft travel trailer and enjoyed every mile of it. If it was destroyed today, I would have another tomorrow.

    2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 - LS

Pros: The way it looks. It is a very sexy looking truck

Cons: Ha, haven't found anything to dislike

Advice: DO NOT HESITATE. BUY ONE

My husband and bought a 2005 2500 Avalanche last week on a whim. I was looking and talking about a suburban for 2 years. The dealer had a black 1500 in the showroom, I took one look at it and changed my mind. I love it. If a truck can be called sexy, this is it. I too, am still grinning from ear to ear and singing 'mama's gotta truck!' Our kids (15, 18 and 21 could not believe this was my choice. They thought it was dad's. Haha! It handles great, it rides great. Am excited to pull my trailer with it on our next camping trip! My husband likes so much that he is thinking about getting one for himself! Oh yeah, all the kids want one too!

Advice: If you need a work/family truck this is it. Very versitile

Drove it and loved it. Very roomy, comfortable, stylish. Great for towing and plenty of room for hauling stuff. Draw back, be prepared to watch your gas tank go ......gulp.

    2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 - 4x4

    Pros: Looks and ride.

Cons: Fuel mileage on 8.1L engine.

Advice: Buy one. They are a BLAST

This is a GREAT idea from GM. It is fun to drive and people always want to take a closer look inside. Ride is really good and the handling is OK for this size vehicle. The main problem I have is the fuel mileage on the 8.1L engine. I get 10 MPG in town or on the highway. I am looking at a Hypertech module to help the mileage. Also, 8 lug wheels limit possible wheel changes.

    2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 - 4x4

Pros: The overall look & the midgate.

Cons: That Chevy is letting Cadilac use the midgate idea & the overall look

Advice: This is the pickup for anyone

We first saw this vehicle in an Oct '99 automobile magazine and wanted it instantly. We didn't get our Avalanche until June 2001 even though we ordered it in February 2001. But it was worth waiting for. We got the full package including warm seats, phone and sunroof. The Avalanche handles extremely well in all weather. Excellent to 4-wheel in. The midgate is so easy to use that my 9 year old daughter takes it down or puts it up by herself.
