Pros: soft ride
Cons: engine lacks power , instrument panel. poor gas mileage
Advice: Do not purchase! check other makes. Not happy with fuel mileage 14 mpg city 20 mpg highway. Just about a cash for clunkers criteria. Asked service manager what mileage I should expect, his reply I have no idea.
Pros: Roominess and styling
Cons: Somewhat plain exterior
Advice: Find a low mileage unit with the options you want and buy it.This is a great car for the money. The 38OO engine gives very good fuel milage and has plenty of power. Also ride, handling, and a quiet interior are much appreciated. When you can buy a good domestic car like this Buick why would I buy an over priced and over rated import.
Pros: Comfort at speed
Cons: Some of the interior material are cheap
Advice: As a used car, if the price is right, a very good machine.2002 Buick Ultra. Purchased new in late 2001, car has 51,000 miles without a single problem. The only repair I had done was to purchase new rotors and replace the OEM rotors that had warped. Great machine on the highway, at highway speed it registers 30 to 31 mpg, in the city a consistent 19 to 21 mpg. Paint is show room condition, leather is slightly worn. All in all the best machine we.ve owned in a long time and when pushed is very fast for a six.
Cons: comfort of third row seats
Advice: NoneSide passenger doors didn't open and close smoothly. Sounded like they were in a bind.
Cons: brakes are weak
Advice: Spend the extra $$$'s and upgrade to the CXS with the NorthstarThe V6 is surprisingly peppy, although it does sound a bit throaty. The quiet cabin is the most remarkable feature of this car. The materials and fit and finish also boast an air of quality ironically different from Buick's recent past. Gas mileage on the V6 is impressive as I have a habit of always driving in a hurry and I consistently achieve around 19 MPG with city driving, which, of a car this size, is impressive. Many compact models that are half the size offer comparative performance in this arena.
Pros: Quiet and smooth ride
Cons: trying to find one.
Advice: It's well worth the wait if you have to order one.Great ride, smooth and quiet. Fits my 6'5' frame rather well. Have not found another vehicle that competes. Well, maybe it's siblings, Acadia and Outlook, but only superficially. Standard features unbelievable. Dealer was great also. I found the vehicle using the locate feature on the Buick web site and my dealer went out and got it for me.
Pros: Ease of driving plus its visibility.
Advice: Test drive one and then you can determine for yourself. The ride is the smoothest that I have driven in all the crossover models.
