The V-10 that sings!
Pros: The sound and performance.
Cons: Fuel mileage.Wind up this baby and listen to hear her sing! The V-10 makes a higher pitch sound unlike a V-8. Of course, the performance is also incredible. This car can be a comfortable luxury driver or, by pushing the 'Sport' button, becomes a high performance screamer. The SMG transmission takes some getting used to. However, it is quite satisfactory. The I Drive is overly complicated and you'll have to read the owners manual. Quality of the build is typical of BMW and excellent. I have several late model high performance cars including a Cadillac CTS-V and a Nissan GT-R. The BMW M6 is my first choice for driving.
Fun to drive
Pros: Very responsive handling
Cons: Comes with run flat tires. Rides like they are made of stone. It's my midlife crisis ride. 30mpg. Great sports/commuter car. Very reliable. Have not needed anything but oil changes and gas in the tank. I plan to switch to conventional tires when the runflats wear out..
Easily my favorite sports car
Pros: Style and design
Cons: Exhaust noteI've owned a number of cars in my 25 years of driving... 3 being M3s. My wife wanted me to sell the e46 M3 coupe (manual) because it 'wasn't family friendly'. A year and a half later, I still couldn't get over it. I looked at a 335 sedan but couldn't do it for some reason. Ended back with another e46 M3, this time a convert SMG so that she can drive it on occasion. Couldn't
Pros: iDriveIt doesn't get better than this; driving with the top down on a summer night and enjoying driving a 128 convertable.
Who needs an M3
Pros: the turbo motor
Cons: I haven't found anything not to likeThe 335i with the sport and premium packages and the six speed manual is quite the BMW hot rod. In my opinion, the 335i coupe has the best styling, handling and performance. I believe that this is a modern BMW classic.
Pros: everythingGreat car for 2 people. I have the 2011 135i coupe version and would highly recomend to all. It's very fast with the 7 speed trans. no turbo lag and the car magazine test indicate 0-60 under 5 seconds which I can say is right on. Needless to say you can surprise many! Comfort is not as good as the 328 owned in 2007 but it has all the options as in the 3 and the ride is better than most smaller cars. Can't take this car anywhere without getting very positive comments from strangers. So if looking for a rocket with all the bells and whistles this is the one! Once you test drive you'll know what I mean....
Worst Bimmer I've had
Pros: handles well
Cons: electrical systemThis car has had major electrical problems. On seemingly random occasions, the headlights have turned on while the car has been parked, draining the battery and necessitating a jump start. I've taken the car to BMW dealer many times, and communicated w/ BMW customer relations. THey've told me the car is performaing normally and the only problem they've found is the lights have been left on! However, I never leave the lights on and normally they turn off when the ignition is turned off. Watch out!
