Pros: Too many to name
Advice: BMW's can get quite 'pricy', limit the options to only those you'll use.I have to admit that I've always been a fan of BMW. Before taking out a co worker's 2001 330Cic, it had been quite a few years since I last drove one (worked on a few when I was younger). The quality of her 330Cic was just fantastic, I knew right then that I wanted one. I test drove several different combinations (330's and 325's/ autos and manuals)and decided on a 325Ci with a manual trans. Sure the 'extra' power of the 330 is nice but at this point in my life it's not needed. I ordered my 325Ci the first week of April 2002 and recieved it the first week of June 2002. I have had absolutely no problems with it at all, it has been perfect. The fit and finish are top notch, the chassis stiff and rattle free. Power is more than adequate, 0-60 in 7.0 isn't to bad. This car is without doubt the finest vehicle that I've ever owned, doubt I'll ever get rid of it.
Pros: Xenon lights very cool!!
Cons: Nothing sofar!
Advice: Drive any vehicle I drove and come back to buy a BMW...In 2001 I bought a brand new Ford Focus, for 1.5 years nothing but trouble! So through a lemon law procedure returned the car and went shopping for a new car... Drove various cars, but we had a 328i sedan already which we loved and traded for a 330ci coupe, wonderful car! I drove Mercedes, Audi, Volvo and various other cars, but we both loved the 325i Sport Wagon or touring, pretty fast, very nice handling, full scheduled maintenance for 4 years or 50,000 miles which really made us decide for the 2003 BMW 325i Touring. When I trade this car, I will get a M3 or a 330ci Cabrio... 'Nur Fliegen ist schoener!!!' Only flying is nicer! Please correct the years because they are both 2003 models!
Pros: Sport Seats, Heated Seats, Xenon, HK, Steptronic
Cons: Price, it adds up fast, but I don't regret anything I added.
Advice: Test all of the options... I enjoy all of the Sport and Premium options and feel they are worth it.Drives and rides like it is on rails. What a dream. I'm sold on BMW. It is 'The Ultimate Driving Machine'
Pros: Adjustments for driver position, seat heaters
Cons: Extra force required to drive the car.
Advice: You probably won't get much of a price break.Very nice car, handles extremely well. Road noise is just about non-existent inside. I felt the controls were a bit stiff, steering, brakes, gas, all took more effort than the car I ended up with. Seats were stiff, and felt a little short under the thighs, although the many adjustments (seat and steering) allowed for a good driving position. The design that goes into these cars is incredible! One turn off I had in this car was the heating system and CD player did not work. Brand new car on the lot, not a good sign.
Cons: Center Console
Advice: The AWD is great if you need it. Nothing else even comes close to this car.The first time i drove my car was on Christmas Eve. The snow was gently falling and conditions were quickly icing up, however, the all-wheel drive handled superbly adding a sense of confidence. Heading out of my neighborhood, i watched as three cars spun out right in front of me. The DSC-X and AWD balanced perfectly and i held my perfect line. The HDC was also amazing through the steep icy hills. To test the handling of the car, I approached a turn I normally take at 40mph at 85mph. The car turned and slid through the turn beautifully, allowing me to maintain control throughout. This car is absolutely amazing. The AWD is also an added bonus on my long snowy drives to college.
Advice: Do anything to buy itThis car is great! It is very fast and is very comfortable. When I went to Mamoth with my family to go snowboarding and skiing, the racks on the top of the car held two pairs of skies of two pairs of snowboards. This car is good for almost any type of road BUY IT NOW!!!
Pros: The manual transmission
Cons: Too many options to choose from
Advice: You MUST try the manual transmission! It's much more responsive. Sport seats are worth every penny, so are the bi-xenon's.If you prefer a plush interior and an ultra soft ride, stop here - this car is not for you! If you're like me, and enjoy exceptional handling, engine performance, attention to detail, and cornering, you MUST seriously consider this fine automobile! I test drove many cars and was ready to sell my '01 Accord after one test drive. The 330i with automatic transmission is very nice, but I didn't care for the slight delay when shifting it manually. Then I drove the 325i with a manual transmission. WOW! In my opinion, the 325i with a stick performs as well as the 330i with the automatic. It would have been wonderful to test drive a 330i with a stick, and I probably would have purchased one. Insurance (something most people overlook) is much less expensive on the 325i and its sticker price is about $5000 less. Fantastic road feedback, steering and balance. Controls are well thought out and easy to find. The manual shifts smoothly and consistently. Plenty of power! You have TOTAL control over the vehicle when taking sharp turns. Look over the safety record from Intellichoice. Very impressive safety results!!! Is there a down side? Yes, too many terrific options to choose from! Enjoy!
