    2002 Nissan Frontier - SC-V6 (A4) 4x2 Standard Bed Crew Cab

    Pros: Look of truck

    Cons: Tires

    Advice: The gas milage sucks.

Have 2001 SC crew cab, driven 17,000 miles thus far. Rides great, have been gawked at by at least 50 people. Gas milage is poor, I avg 16mpg, and I drive like a Floridian. Don't like the fit of the front fender flairs. There is little gap that lets pebbles get behind the flair and get stuck. Dealer agreed the fit was bad, and replaced them with new ones. They are better, but still not a good design. Tires are apt to hydroplane due to tread design and size.

    Pros: Appearance

    Cons: seats could be better

Advice: So far............ it's been great

So far a good little truck, it gets me around town. Economical and reliable and the 2.3 engine is much better than the previous 2.5 , I have no complaints. Reg cab, 4 cyl, 5sp manual

2002 Ford Ranger - XL 2.3L (311A) 4x2 Regular Cab Styleside Short Box

    Pros: easy to drive

Cons: steering wheel a little to low

Advice: If it works for you, buy it...........if not, don't buy

So far, no problems with this vehicle. I just got for running around and it works great for that. It's fairly comfortable for a small pick up. But if you're looking for comfort and power, go full size. I see all these reviews on various small trucks complaining about lack of power, you want the powerful engines you have to pay for it, by buying a full size truck. I had a toyota tacoma before this one and it was a good vehicle, but I got way more features with the ranger for quite abit less $, and so far it's been just as good. Averages around 23 mpg.....

    2002 Chevrolet S-10 - LS 4x2 Extended Cab

    Pros: comfortable seating

Cons: taking vehicle in for warranty repairs

Advice: get the extended 5-year warranty

I purchased this vehicle as a 'retirement' car. I have had it in for warranty repairs every 1,000 miles, it only has 13,400 miles on it now. I'm very disappointed. I am pursuing the 'Lemon Law' in California.

    2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 - 4x4

Pros: The overall look & the midgate.

Cons: That Chevy is letting Cadilac use the midgate idea & the overall look

Advice: This is the pickup for anyone

We first saw this vehicle in an Oct '99 automobile magazine and wanted it instantly. We didn't get our Avalanche until June 2001 even though we ordered it in February 2001. But it was worth waiting for. We got the full package including warm seats, phone and sunroof. The Avalanche handles extremely well in all weather. Excellent to 4-wheel in. The midgate is so easy to use that my 9 year old daughter takes it down or puts it up by herself.

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 - ST 4x2 Quad Cab Short Box

Pros: 4 doors. It's a real truck, but room for the family.

Cons: It's a bit of a gas hog. Well, what do you expect?

Advice: If you're going to tow a lot of weight, get the 373 gears, towing package, and 5.9 motor. Otherwise the small V8 is really great.

This is one cool truck. Bought in 10/01, now have 5K miles. Not a single problem, not even one. Runs like a clock, very comfortable, tons of room and storage. Got the 4.7 motor; plenty of power and wouldn't want to get worse gas mileage. Everyone complains of firm ride and gas consumption. Yes to both, however on the road I average 19, 14 combined. But you have to keep your foot out of it around town to get any mileage, otherwise you get 12. With a few hundred pounds in the box the ride is much improved. Well, it is a truck, isn't it? Seating and controls are very nice. That windshield really slopes, now doesn't it? Overall finish is superb, and the new styling is awesome. Mine is white, so I can put some custom paint on it when the weather warms up. 17' wheels are really cool, sits higher than the others, comes with everything I wanted standard. Got traction lock limited slip diff instead of 4X4; works great offroad too. Stereo with Infinity speakers is very nice. Stainless exhaust and a mean truck sound. I love my new truck, even better than I expected.
