    2005 Toyota Prius

Best Car I Ever Owned: Prius

Pros: 52 MPG on the highway, fully loaded with people and cargo

Cons: Glove compartment finish on 2005 model scratches easily

As kids we thought of taking energy from braking with generators, be we couldn't control the process fast enough with mechanical switching. 30= years later fast microcomputers made it all controllable. Besides the excellent technology, the appointments, gadgets, and performance are great. Traction control on ice and hard pack snow is marvelous. This is bar-none the best vehicle I have ever owned in my 45 years of driving.

    2004 Toyota Matrix

    Can't beat this value

    Pros: Great car, low cost.

    Cons: I have no complaints.

The Toyota Matrix is a car that's hard to beat for value. It is a reliable and highly utilitarian vehicle. I always reserve final judgment on a vehicle until I have at least a couple of hundred thousand miles on it. In my opinion a car only proves itself with long term reliability. I only have 100,000 miles on it, but have had literally no service issues with it. I had new front brake pads installed, a new battery, and that's it. It has very decent acceleration for this type of vehicle. The ride is pretty good considering its small size. I have hauled some relatively heavy loads. With the back seat and the front passenger seat folded down, it will hold a surprising amount of cargo. I have a long wheel base recumbent bike that fits nicely in the car without removing any tires. The gas mileage is very good. It is the cheapest car to operate that I have ever owned. It just keeps running and running. I put a little gas in it, change the oil every 3-4,000 miles, and drive it. The brakes are excellent. The handling is surprising for this type of car. It is responsive, fun and a great all around runabout. It is even good on the highway. We also own a Camry, which is an excellent car as well, but I prefer the Matrix. I am 60 years old and have owned quite a number of cars, but the Matrix is easily my fave. It puts my last two BMW's to shame.

    2005 Toyota Prius

    Help save the earth

Pros: average between 50 to 54 miles per gal., per tank of gas!!!

    Cons: nothing

Very ahead of its time car! Runs on electric alot of the time, even on interstate! Engine shuts off every time you take foot off gas pedal, even on interstate, at red lights and stop signs to, unless battery needs charging are catalytic converter needs to be heated up for emissions! It is reported that it saves 2 tons of carbon a year in the air compaired to every day gas burning car!!!!

    2005 Toyota Prius

Does what it is supposed to do.

    Pros: Ingenious hybrid drive

Cons: Driver has so little control, just stab and steer.

Extremely relibile and when driving on mountain roads gets up to 55mpg. The wide windshield pillars are a hazard. The claims are made about safety even telling me that the creep in drive and reverse are for safety.
