    2003 Toyota RAV4 - (M5) FWD

Pros: AWD system is very capable in snowy weather.

Cons: Noisy cabin, rough ride, expected better fuel economy

Advice: A good car, but don't get stuck on the Rav just becuase it is a Toyota - shop around and test its competitors.

It's not a bad car at all, but for all the accolades of Toyota build quality and fit and finish, I'm not that impressed. We bought this car for my fiance, so she does most of the driving in it. The Rav has alot of road noise at highway speeds, and also lets alot of engine noise into the cabin too. The ride is rather bumpy - worse than my 2003 Blazer which itself rides on a live axle truck suspension - you really feel the northeast potholes around here in the Rav. The automatic transmission hunts for gears a bit on inclines, and in normal driving sometimes downshifts are abrupt, other times it will delay them. It also has a few squeeks and rattles in only 20k miles, one prominently somewhere in the headboard above the driver, and another in the dash. I did not expect this from a Toyota. Highway gas mileage was not very good either, gets about 23-24mpg at 70mph. A 160hp 2.4L 3300lb car should do better than that. The dealership experience was less than spectacular too, but I can't blame the car for that.

    2003 Toyota RAV4 - (M5) AWD

Pros: The roof rack and maybe the 4x4. The body style is nice

Cons: Alot....the terrible jolt when accelerating onto a freeway or passing a car. The bumpy ride it has. Its amazing the small vanity mirror on the passenger side. Its almost like as if it belongs in a cosmetic case. Its got this cheap small magnetic flap

Advice: Think twice if you think this car is big enough for trips. We had to leave this vehicle behind on a trip and rent a larger vehicle just for cargo space. There isnt much of that in this car behind the back seat.

This is a nice car if you like a small SUV, but be ready for the not to wonderful ride it offers, and the 'rubberband' engine performance as I call it. My wife loves the car due to the fact it sits high, but also dislikes the ride. Another thing lacking is the lack of a chirp or low horn sound when using the remote lock. Makes you second guess if its locked or not

    2003 Toyota RAV4 - (M5) AWD

Pros: The power and stability in the snow. It just plows along without any problems.

Cons: The dash rattle that Toyota engineers have known about since 2002 which is cold weather related.

Advice: Get this vehicle because you will really like it! Toyota Reliability is the best!

Great little SUV that gets great gas mileage and is a little beast in the snow. This vehicle can go through anything when it snows.

    2003 Toyota RAV4 - (M5) FWD

Pros: It's quick response and turning ratio.

Cons: Slight rattle when taking excessive speeds (90-100mph)

Advice: Try it at low and high speeds. Take larger passenger with you for back seat riding. They will be pleasantly surprised!

After test driving the GMC Envoy and Toyota Highlander, I fell in love with this little 'gem'. Alot of bang for your buck! Though compact looking, interior is deceptively comfortable and spacious for a small SUV. Quick response time. Great turning radius. Seats, both passenger and driver's are comfortable even for someone with lower back problems.

    2003 Toyota RAV4 - (M5) AWD

    Pros: The looks

    Cons: vibrations at highspeeds

    Advice: compare and research ....

Took a test drive on a RAV 4 - while mentally i was almost certain i was going to buy one. AFterthe test driveim not so sure. It looks much sexierthan it performs. easy to drive, steered and handled quite well andall that butsome weaknesses showed up - tendency to vibrate at 120kmph, squealing wheels on roundabouts (at just 40 kmphor less), and ata pointor two i felt it a little underpowered. Net result, i might still buy it, but it wasnt the no brainer decision i expected

    2003 Toyota RAV4 - (M5) AWD

    Pros: Looks & finish

Cons: lack of power and engine noise to make up for it.

Advice: Decide between image vs content, I have to let it pass, with regret

Great looks, quality & finish, but a comprimise in power & engine noise. Too much to comprimise.
