2002 Toyota Land Cruiser - Base

Pros: My favorite feature is the Turbo charged 4.2 diesel engine

    Cons: Going down narrow streets

Advice: Get a diesel if posible..........its great on fuel

I worked in the auto sales field for over 20 years and found this the best vehicle I have ever owned. Solid sturdy dependable I bought mine 6 months old in the Caribbean and have driven it now over 2 years and here in the Caribbean my Landcrusier has increased in value $20.000 or more.

2002 Toyota Land Cruiser - Base

Pros: It's history, quality, and reserved look

    Cons: Gas Milage

Advice: You pay for what you get. This vehicle is worth it's $60,000.00 price tag so much more than some others.

This is my forth cruiser. I strayed after my third, a 2000 model to try some of the other vehicles. I purchased a 2001 ML 430 and had nothing but problems. I also purhcased a 2002 Sequoia and although it was of excellent quality, It did not have the landcruiser's exceptional ride, handling, etc. I have had my 2002 Landcruiser for 17 months, and it is perfect, no rattles, or issues that have taken me the dealership for service. I buy Toyota becasue their vehicles are proven to be of the highest quality, and reliability. If you take a moment and look at the consumer reports with regard to reliability, you will see that the Landcruiser has no equal. It's fit and finish are top quality, and it components work as they were designed to. The NAV system is very easy to understand, and has worked well when traveling from state to state. Since NAV system is DVD based, no need for extra CD's for each state, as was the case with my ML 430.

2002 Toyota Land Cruiser - Base

Pros: Driving position with good seating and vision.

Cons: Gas mileage (19.5 mpg) less than I hoped for.

    Advice: Get the 'Limited' model.

I have 2700 miles on the vehicle, basically in surban and highway driving, and like it better the more I drive. Ride and every day handling are excellent. Most features are well thoughtout; and finsh and fit are a-one. Engine is very smooth and powerfull. The gearing is a little taller than I would have picked, but since I plan to tow a trailer okay for the future.

2002 Toyota Land Cruiser - Base

    Pros: Handling/Ride quality

    Cons: Initial cost

Advice: Take the vehicle out for a long period of time to really appreciate it.

An exceptional handling vehicle, particularly for its size. The ride is firm but not rough. And, it corners without any tilt. Much better quality than Ford, Chevy or Land Rover ever thought about producing!! Plus, it is not one of those sissy SUVs that BMW and Mercedes are pushing off on consumers - these are nothing more than jacked-up station wagons. Also, looking at the stats, the LandCruiser beats the Lexus LX - and you don't have all the cheesey cladding.
