Advice: ...I've owned a 2003 and 2007 corolla. The 07 has chipping paint and I bought is less than a year ago. I'm happy with everything else, but this is extremely disappointing.
Pros: Contrary to what others have said, I found the ride and gas milage to be good.
Cons: The fact that they seemed to have painted the car with nail polish. No, I take that back, nail polish is much more durable!
Advice: Do not buy.Until you hear a news report about Toyota re-calling these vehicles to replace their cheap-ass paint jobs, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE. Or any other Toyota car for that matter. I bought a brand new 2007, and the paint is chipping off like mad. In 3 months, I have 10 chips on the hood, ridiculas. It's fine to drive, and I had no mechanical problems, but I can't recommend anyone to buy a car with such paint problems.
Pros: Interior is sporty, has decent-sized trunk, adequate rear space
Cons: Price was around $17,800, which is too much for an outdated car
Advice: Get a Civic LX instead for same priceThe Corolla S has a nice, yet contemporary appearance. The 15' alloy wheels, spoiler and foglights are a nice touch. Ride is quiet and smooth at around 50mph, but steering doesn't feel tight enough. Has good trunk space, decent rear legroom. Acceleration and braking is average. The Corolla lacks standard safety features like ABS and side airbag. Interior trim is sporty, with red-illuminated gauges and leather steering wheel. Fabric looks a bit tacky and cheap, and center armrest is a bit too small. Overall, you would be better off buying a Honda Civic LX or even a Scion tC, as the price is not much higher. The Corolla is basically a 2003 design, and is outdated compared to the Civic.
Pros: Gas Mileage
Cons: Paint and trim finish
Advice: Too much money for too little quality.New 2007 Corolla has serious paint and trim problems. Dealer/mfr unwilling to help. Car will prematurely rust.
