Great gas mileage, 30 to 34 MPG.. No mechanical problems for 7 years. Just now have OBD code P0171.
Pros: Comfort gas milage
Pros: Maintenance free and 35 mpg.115,000 trouble free miles. Only oil changes every 7500 miles and a set of tires. I'll buy another one if it ever wears out. I'm going for 300,000!
Pros: Cruise Control,Large Trunk, Legroom
Cons: Interior cloth on seats and doors
Advice: If you want ABS Brakes, look hard to find one as it is an optional item and is not easy to get.I am very happy so far with my vehicle since I've purchased it about 6 weeks ago. Get up and go can be a little slow at times, but when it goes, its gone. I had to get used to the light pedal, because I would hit 85 mph and not realize it (my Camry had heavy peds). The radio controls are a little ways from the drivers position, as is the steering wheel. using the 4 and 8 o'clock position makes it manageable. The interior cloth feels like a washcloth, but has so far been easy to vacuum clean. As far as road noise goes, it is noticeable, but not to bad. The car does sway in high winds and big rig crossings, but what can you do when your cars weighs roughly 16-1700 lbs? The stereo is great, and easy to use. Wish I had gotten a car with the changer though. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase as Ive have been with my Toyotas of past. My gas mileage on average has been about 39-40 mpgs, considering its mostly highway.
Pros: Fuel Economy
Cons: Unreliability. No trunk release button on keychain.
Advice: Do not recommend.Less than a year and 9000 km after I purchased my 2006 Corolla, my steering pump is broken and it is undriveable. The dealership says the part won't arrive for another month. It's Toyota's policy not to provide a rental car or any transportation for that matter until after 10 days that the part is on backorder. I am stuck without a car for 10 days. There was also another 06 Corolla in for the same problem. I was happy with my 1994 Corolla and not happy with my 2006. Toyota made no effort to salvage our relationship. This is the last Toyota I will ever buy. Saturn and GM both say they provide transportation the same day if they expect a part not to arrive for a month. But then again, they have never heard of a part taking so long to arrive.
Pros: 6 CD changer
Cons: Very unstable on the freeway.
Advice: Not recomended.I bought my '06 Corolla in March '06. In May I took it back to the dealer to check the alignment because it is very unstable on the freeway at speeds of 55 and higher. The faster you go the more you feel it 'wander' it pulls to the sides unexpectedly. So far I have taken it back four times, but it has not been fixed. Toyota keeps blaming the poor stability on the rain grooves on the freeway saying the lines on the tires align with the grooves on the freeway, therefore the car tries to follow them. I guess I'm not supposed to drive it on the freeway because most of them have these rain grooves. I still have the car because I don't feel comfortable selling it knowing it has this problem. I don't recomend this car to anyone. I bought the car from Longo Toyota. I don't recomend this dealer either when it comes to servicing your car.
Pros: Had to have cruise control installed--best feature and gas mileage.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of
Advice: Test drive it and the black color is beautifulBought the car with the $500 rebate. The first two tanks of gas gave me 37.5 and 36.0 miles per gallon---both tanks were roughly 50/50 highway/around town driving. It is comfortable and handles the road very well. Back seat space for an adult is fair and the trunk is roomy.
