2013 Toyota Camry - XLE V6Change Make/Model
2013 Toyota Camry Summary
Changes for the 2013 Toyota Camry:
One year after a complete redesign, the Toyota Camry receives several updates for the 2013 model year. All 2013 Camry models are equipped with a Display Audio system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen, and the turn signal now blinks three times with a single tap of the lever. The Camry LE and XLE models receive upgraded seat materials when the Ivory color is selected, models equipped with leather get upgraded door panel materials, and the Camry SE is now offered with an optional blind-spot monitoring system. The blind-spot monitoring system includes a new Rear Cross Traffic Alert function for 2013.
The 2013 Toyota Camry is sold in base L, popular LE, sport-tuned SE, and luxury-themed XLE trim levels. A V-6 engine is optional only for the SE and XLE models. Additionally, Toyota sells the Camry with a gas/electric hybrid powertrain, and that model is covered in a separate summary.
Engines and Transmissions:
A 178-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard on all Camry models, while the Camry SE and XLE models can be optioned with a 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard with both engines, delivering power to the Camry’s front wheels.
Fuel Economy Ratings:
With the standard 4-cylinder engine, the 2013 Camry is EPA-rated to get 28 mpg in combined driving. The V-6 engine is not quite as fuel-efficient, returning 25 mpg in combined driving.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the 2013 Camry models receive a 5-star overall crash-test rating, the highest possible. In crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2013 Camry is named a “Top Safety Pick.” It is important to note, however, that the Camry received a “Poor” rating, the lowest possible, in the new small overlap frontal-impact test. Next year, the Camry will need to get an “Acceptable” rating or better in this new measure to retain its “Top Safety Pick” status.
Bluetooth hands-free calling and wireless music streaming, a USB port with iPod connectivity and control, and a touchscreen radio are standard on every 2013 Toyota Camry. Upgrades, depending on the trim level and the engine selection, include a humidity-sensing automatic climate control system, a Smart Key entry system with push-button ignition, HD Radio, iTunes song tagging capability, JBL GreenEdge speakers, and Entune services with Bing Internet search and Pandora Internet radio. Additionally, the Camry can be optioned with Safety Connect telematics with Automatic Collision Notification service, a reversing camera system, and a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
