Compact cars and coupes are generally perceived as econoboxes. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with that; those types of cars certainly have a place in the world and on the road.  But it makes life a little tough for a small car that’s not intended for the lower end of the market, and we’re talking specifically about the most expensive coupes and compact cars. There are high class compact vehicles out there that live in a niche that’s sometimes a little hard to see, even though they feature faster engines, nicer cabins, and a more luxurious overall experience. It’s not literally because these cars are small; it’s just that they’re fighting the perception that big is automatically better. A list of the top 10 most expensive coupes will definitely provide a new perspective to the possibilities of a small high end car.

High price coupes certainly appeal to a specific kind of buyer. That is, someone who doesn’t often have multiple passengers and might possibly even prefer the experience of zipping along in solitude, listening to a high end stereo or enjoying the sounds of the engine. Someone who doesn’t want to compromise on quality or experience just because they don’t need or want a behemoth of a luxury car. Because the most expensive compact cars are so small, it means the niceness of them is concentrated into a smaller space. The driver, seated in the cockpit of any of these high priced compact cars, is tightly enveloped in careful design supplemented by high quality materials. They aren’t the fastest cars around, but the most expensive coupes are engineered for enough speed to keep their ideal customers entertained. High price compact cars are distinctive enough to maintain a distance from their lower priced counterparts in the small car market. Econoboxes, these are not.
