2005 Suzuki Forenza - S (M5) Sedan
Pros: volume on the steering wheel
Cons: the way it drove in rain and snow and the way the horn was situated
Advice: Keep looking around--don't let the appearance fool youI loved this car in the summer, but where I'm from, the winters are brutal and I need a car with good traction when the snow would stick. The Forenza was my worst nightmare, and it spun out from behind me many times, even when I was going very slow. Great for zipping around town if you live somewhere sunny all year long, but if you expect weather like rain and snow at all, I would not recommend this car. Traded it in for the Subaru Impreza.
2007 Suzuki XL7 - Base w/3rd Row AWD
Pros: All of the standard features: auto climate control, traction control, daytime lights, etc.
Cons: It's a little plain looking
Advice: The slightly higher end models have remote start, may be worth considering.I have owned this vehicle for a little over 4 months and am very happy with my choice. Here in Colorado, I got my 1st chance to test drive this in the snow and ice, and it passed with flying colors! This is a great all weather vehicle. Compared to the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander, the fuel economy is virtually the same, the car is much quicker than either, as well as many cars. In real world, you should be able to buy this for at least $10k cheaper than either of the two. It's definitely worth looking at.
2006 Suzuki Reno - Base (M5)
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: I do wish it got just a bit better gas mileage.
Advice: BUY ONE!I LOVE my Suzi!!! I have never been so happy with a car. This little thing has more room and power than anybody expects. It also handles really well. It also holds up VERY VERY well to rear end impact! While going about 45 mph I was hit from behind by a truck going approx. 70 mph It felt like he just bounced off of my bumper. I couldn't believe how little damage there was! If I was going out today to buy a new car it would most likely be another Reno.
2007 Suzuki SX4 - Base (M5)
Cons: small gas tank; lackluster gas mileage
Advice: Be prepared to visit the gas station more than normal because of the small gas tank. The acceleration and gas mileage could be better, but then I remind myself that it's an AWD vehicle and heavier than your average subcompact. I call it my BABYSUV. So far, there aren't a lot of them on the road where I live, so I get that 'head-turning' effect when I'm driving. I like that! I am sure I will appreciate it even more when it snows.......
2007 Suzuki XL7 - Luxury w/o 3rd Row FWD
Pros: Remote start
Cons: placement of window controls
Advice: Drive the car and you will buy. They are a good deal for the current selling priceI recently purchased an 07 XL7 I have to dis-agree with what the professionals say. I think it is a good buy. It rides real good, the engine does make a lot of noise. I think it has to do with the type of cooling fan they are using. but it is not that bad. the ride is great nice feel. now if you are going to try and race the car the performance may not be as good, but for what the average driver does it will hold up. it looks good on the inside when driving you can see the road. you do not feel like you are in a truck 10 miles off the ground but in a car. the model we purchased has a DVD, leather, front and rear climate controls, three rows of seats, and what i love a remote start. we got all of this for under 25,000. I think the car is a great deal for the price. and it does not look bad, and it cranks our 252 hp. you can not beat that........
2005 Suzuki XL-7 - EX w/3rd Row (A5) 4x4
Pros: 3 rd row seating
Cons: rear view
Advice: test drive other cars before making your decisionThis car drives very well. Sturdy Built.
2007 Suzuki SX4 - Base (M5)
Cons: Gas mileage
Advice: take into account the EPA ratings on the sticker mean nothingIt's a great little car....except.... it's to heavy for the small engine, so gas mileage is rather pathetic, that and the teenie weenie gas tank have you getting to know the gas station clerk quite well. It's relatively inexpensive to buy, but remember the xm ready radio will cost you about 550 us dollars at the Suzuki dealer to get XM.
