Cons: cruise control, seats, service, quality.
Advice: CautionOn downgrades cruise control is jerky. Had it to dealer twice and they are unable to fix. Subaru customer service and dealer service leave a lot to be dsired. There is a film on the windows that keeps coming back after a few days.Great driving and very peppy for a small engine 32 MPG. on Hwy.25ish city. not the quality of Honda or Toyota.
Pros: power , handing
Cons: i like it all
Advice: go for it get the stitest drive it you will like it
Pros: all wheel drive
Cons: Seats a bit hard
Advice: Check closely on transmission problems with '05 before buying.Transmission out at 7,700 miles due to burst seal. Subaru, after 13 days, has still not decided how to fix it. This is why I rated the quality as 'poor.' I have a '95 legacy wagon still running fine at 275,000 miles. Never gave me a problem. Quality at Subaru must be slipping. I heard that this transmission problem has been happening but is being kept under wraps. The roadside assistance is great.
Pros: The transition from third to fourth to fifth gears
Cons: The slight turbo lag
Advice: Drive it. Drive it again. Make sure you test drive a loaded GT Limited with 5-speed stick.I was in the market for a 4-door sedan & I spent the better part of the year studying every car known to man. The Subie was the last car I looked at & drove. I'm a 100-mile-a-day commuter which means I don't lease & I flip my vehicles every two or three years. Also, the 'Fun Factor' was an important criteria for me. I purchased the GT Limited Sedan two weeks ago & 1,000 miles later I can report that I'm still looking for a proper Formula One cockpit seat harness to replace the stock seat belt. Yowzer!!!!!!!!! I ordered a set of ASA 17' chrome rims complete with Continental high performance summer tires & while this enhances the Subie's look immensely, the performance transmitted to the road from the rally car engine is a bonus. Yee-Hah!!!!!! Interior is perfect for those who despise gagdets & the need for a Nav System. I always no where I'm going anyway & with the Subie GT Limited you're always going forward........fast.
Cons: The seat does not adjust enough, which causes back pain (Didn't have it in my Passat that I traded in)
Advice: See if you can get a longer test drive to ensure that the seats work for youTest drive was great, but 30 minutes did not preapre me for the the lack of seat comfort.
Advice: join the clubI went to the Subaru dealership with full intentions on buying a 2.5 RS. After test driving it I found it to be great in all aspects. I wanted to see what a WRX was like so I test drove a silver one. I bought it right then. The reliability, power, handling, and versatility are unmatched by any make or model world-wide. I did pay more than i wanted to for any car, but the WRX is not just any car. I now own a 2005 WRX that i drive effortlessly through snow, rain and everything else while laughing at the gas slurping SUV flounder about while using four wheel drive. From environment friendly to your pocket book, every angle is covered. I would recommend the WRX to my mother and my friends.
Cons: Automatic HVAC system
Advice: You must test drive this fantastic machine! This is one amazing machine! The combination of a torquey boxer engine and turbo give it amazingly civilized low-end performance for normal driving... but when that turbo kicks in -- watch out! Tubo lag is almost non-existent. This is the smoothest, most forgiving manual transmission I have ever used! Fit and finish is outstanding and the doors give a hugely satisfying 'thump' when you close them. I had a '99 BMW 323 and I like this Subaru more! The performance/features/quality/price ratio simply can't be beat. Get one now!!
