    2002 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Sedan

Pros: Performance, gas mileage (27mpg highway), AWD

    Cons: no standard turbo guage

Advice: I would skip on the carbon fiber trim and get the Turbo boost guage and upgraded stereo

The first time I drove the WRX I was hooked. I remember taking the car out (without the dealer :-), finding the closest backroad, pulling up to an empty 4-way intersection, revving the engine to 5000 rpm's and dropping the clutch while in first gear. The car was explosive! It took off the line like a rocket! All 4 tires squeeking for a split second and then I was gone! I bought it the very next day and have been happy ever since (80k miles later).

    2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi - w/Gold-Painted

    Pros: fantastic power delivery

Cons: spoiler blocks view of cars directly behind you.

Advice: Fantastic car capable of putting smiles on five people at once.

The Sti is a very capable and supurb handling vehicle. To compare it to the Evo VIII, it is vastly easier to drive daily as it has a broader power band that is easier to modulate by comparison. There is more power at the low end of the tach whereas the EVO reminds of an old two stroke dirt bike or Banchee for the power characteristics-lots of lag then terrific and difficult to modulate power-the right peddle is an on/off switch only. The Sti has variable valve timing and has little lag and usable power off turbo, a far better power plant. The handling is first rate, and equally capable, however the feel is not as precise as the EVO. The build quality is excellent, however most things you would expect to come standard on a $32k turbo charged sports car are options-most notably the radio and speakers, and of all things-the turbo boost guage-Whats up with that?

    2002 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Wagon

Pros: Power and lots of it.. and handling is awesome .. saved my bacon more than once

Cons: uh... the ABS can't do it as well as I can

Advice: Hold on... tight.... grit teeth... smile and laugh hysterically.... OK, now start it up

This is the best all around car I've ever owned (over 30 cars). I feel safe in it because I know the car can do anything I ask of it. Only the Cooper S (1963) could corner better and only the 69 Road Runner was quicker to speed. My wife also loves this car dearly and is not afraid to push it hard. It's wonderful on snow and ice, with fresh rubber, anyway. The ABS is a bit odd, but you do get used to it. All of the complaints I've ever heard about turbo lag and so forth, do not exist with this car. I even like the stereo. The seats are terrific and you can go all day without destroying your lower back. It's got 65,000 miles on it and I have only had a very few minor problems... a window popped off the track and it had a radiator hose go south. Other than that....zip. At this mileage it still blows away the usual Audi's and BMW's. Ho hum...

    2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi - w/Gold-Painted

    Pros: the power

    Cons: nothing

Advice: buy one as soon as possible!

I am 57 and love my new STi! It is so much fun to drive. I have been driving stick shifts for 35 years and this car is the best! I highly recommend it to those who like to drive their car instead of being driven by the car. I look forward to driving everyday.

    2004 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Sedan

Pros: Thats a tied between the turbo and the all-wheel drive

    Cons: nothing

Advice: Get the wrx manual transmission!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to go take a look at the wrx model for my wife.Well.. I drove it (manual) and I fell in love with it.It feels like it grips the road and this thing can get up and go.I had a 2000 ford mustang gt with 4.10 gears and alot of go fast parts.I loved my mustang but within 4 days after driving the wrx.I traded the stang in for the wrx.I absolutely love this car.I truely impressive machine.I also liked the array of standard featues it came with. The all wheel drive and the turbo intercooled engine are the icing on the cake
