Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Head room
Cons: Get's dings easy. They need to improve this big time.
Advice: If you don't like dingsGood performance, not great. But that's what I want.I don't want my wife driving our kids in a car with 220hp.The faster the car the more trouble you can get in.This car is good for passing and getting on the parkway.
Pros: The silent and turbine smooth Boxer-6 engine
Cons: The fact that the seat heaters are all or nothing
Advice: Get the H6-3.0; this car needs the power. This wagon can accomodate 5 people, their luggage, and skis for a week-long ski trip. It is exceptionally smooth, well built, and quiet. The H-6 is an exceptional engine that is superior to it's eupropean compition. GM should use Subaru's engines in it's Saab line. I can only imagine it as a Saab Turbo. Overall the Subaru is a better car the Volvo, and it's all-wheel drive system is technically superior to both the Audi and Volvo. This is a great family car, and I would recomend it to and SUV owner as well. Way to go GM for buying Fugi Heavy Industry.
Pros: I finally have a shoulder restraint that doesn't rub my neck - the height of the attachment is adjustable.
Cons: It's just a little small in the seat (I'm plus size) - the seat belt catch (on the driver's right side) rubs my hip until I adjust it out of the way every time.
Advice: Check out the government safety tests - Subaru excells!Zippy and fun. The 4WD holds to the road securely but not obviously. When my Nissan Pathinder was in 4WD and I made low speed turn to park, I could feel it pulling itself thru the turn. The Forrester just feels like I'm driving!
Pros: Functional hood scoupe
Cons: Antenna mounted on the 'A' pillar
Advice: Get to the dealer fast, drive it, buy it!!I am impressed with the acceleration this vehicle offers off the line. You would never guess a vehicle with all wheel drive could accelerate at such a fast rate. There is a bit of turbo lag below 3K rpms, however, it leaves such a rush once the turbo kicks...
Pros: power/weight ratio
Cons: front end styling
Advice: get oneBest 0-60mph/$ spent, this side of a motorcycle. Fun to drive. Quiet and steady at 90 mph. Great in snow (of course).
Pros: Auto shut off headlights
Cons: Stock stereo, it's kinda weak
Advice: If you get it, keep it clean and looking good. Baby it.I'm 21 and my car is my baby. It handles better than anything I've ever driven, and is the smoothest ride I've ever been in as well. I love that it has the 'get-up-and-go' when I want it and the 'whoa!' when I need it. As far as the looks go, mine doesn't look like the picture, it looks better with rounded headlights and a smooth hood. It also has no fog lamps, but rather openings for them, but those are covered. So I love the way it looks. It has indeed turned the head of many envious mini-van driving fathers, and guys my age as well.
Pros: Smooth power
Cons: elbow rest for right arm (kept catching my down jacket while shifting)
Advice: you probably don't need this carOH MY GOD!!! I want one, but my teenage driver kids would kill themselves. Comfortable, quiet, easy to drive, and goes like a bat out of ----. Trundles around quite nicely in town, looks mundane, DON'T hammer the gas untill you need to be gone. Then you are. I loved it!!!
