    2005 Subaru Outback

    second to none

    Pros: all wheel drive

    Cons: lack of rear armrest

I've owned four Subarus since 1969 and never had to have one repaired. The one I owned longest was a 1990 Legasy sedan . I owned it for over 15 years, until I bought a new 2005,although it was still like new when I sold it. No other automobile made today compares to Subaru for quality and reliability.

    2005 Subaru Outback - 2.5 XT Limited w/Blk Interior (M5) Wagon

Pros: Overall Value - Compared to other vehicles we looked at

    Cons: Gas Milage

Advice: Drive one - This car will surprise you

Purchased the Subaru late February and have been very pleased so far. The down side is gas consumption! Expect 17-18 city and 20-21 highway. Still better than 90% of the other vehicles in this class. The biggest surprise I've had so far is the interior and ride quality. We test drove the BMW X3, Infinity FX35, Lexus RX330 and ended up with the Subaru. The ride is far superior to the BMW and Infinity, and right on par with the Lexus. I never thought I would say a Subaru is as good as a Lexus but its true. On a last note we paid $28,500, over $10,000+ less than the other vehicles we were lokking at.

    2005 Subaru Outback - 2.5 XT Limited w/Blk Interior (M5) Wagon

Pros: I smoked a 350Z off the line last week . 'Nuff said .

Cons: The sound system leaves a little to be desired .

Advice: Find a discount gas bar , stick a fuzz buster in the glovie and buy it ! Tonight .

This car is a rocket . I bought it in April '05 and have already racked up some 18,000 trouble-free miles , including some 100 mph giddy-yups in the fastlane on the freeways in Minnie . It loves the lousy weather to bits and I've never felt safer than I do in this Subie . The gas mileage is less than stellar , though I have to cop to being my own worst enemy there because the urge to boot it and feel the turbo spool up is almost pathological . I find that, with the 5 speed AT , if you put it in manumatic mode , much of the turbo lag is eliminated during expedited launches , though it's also plenty fast when the tranny does its own shifting too . Great car !

    2005 Subaru Outback - 2.5 i (M5) Wagon

Pros: Handling the awd is great

Cons: The sound system really need better speakers

Advice: Take a look at all the subarus, drive them they handle great.

It sits high, but not so high that you have to climb up into the car. Lumbar support and seat ajustability great. Ride is quite and smooth for the type of cars I was looking at. On steep upgrades it's best to down shift.
