    2003 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Wagon

    Pros: Performance and handling

Cons: Nothing in particular bothers me.

Advice: If stealth is what you want, check out the wagon. It's better looking and practical too.

Quite surprising power above 3500 rpm. Not much punch off the line unless you abuse the clutch, but from about 20 to 80 mph, hang on! At first the turbo lag was an issue, but now that I've learned how to drive the car, I rarely notice it. Handling was the big surprise. You don't expect a car that looks like this to be such a canyon burner! It takes a set in a corner and just claws it's way around it. This has got to be THE biggest sleeper on the road. This is a fantastic car, and so, so much fun to drive.

    2003 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Wagon

Pros: Performance, Handling, Seats, engine sound

Cons: Gas mileage, no sunroof, cheap door sound

Advice: Get armrest extension and short-throw shifter, don't get carbon-fiber trim

Great car! Acceleration, handling, ergonomics. Wagon is even better than sedan (more space, the same performance, even better looks). After you learn to use the right gear, it's a rocket. In my opinion the best value overall for cars between $20K and $25K.

    2003 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Handling and power

    Cons: Looks

Advice: If looking at any other Subarus

The WRX is a Fun car to drive! When that turbo goes into boost it's a blast. Good handling, though a little sluggish when starting off. Plenty of room for driver and passenger, but a little cramped for anyone in the back seat. Trunk is very spacious. Does not get very good gas mileage for a small car, but with this much go, who'd expect it. One of it's biggest down falls though is that it is just so darn ugly for such a sporty car. The 2004's are just as bad. Looks aside, it still drives great and is fun to drive everyday to work, bring on the ice and snow.

    2003 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Wagon

Pros: spooling up the turbo with a rev and slipping it up a gear......

    Cons: the flimsy sun visors

Advice: get the base model station wagon. It rocks the hardest.

truly fantastic; all dreams fulfilled in a package so innoculous and benign. It screams and growls.

    2003 Subaru Impreza - WRX (M5) Sedan

Pros: Driving feel, acceleration, comfortable seats, having the feel of not being able to wait to drive it again after parking it in the garage.

Cons: Back seats don't recline to increase possible trunk space, poor gas mileage in the city, possible short-life of turbocharger.

Advice: Leave extra money for speeding tickets. You'll need it.

Be sure to save money for speeding tickets! It is surprising how much power it has from a 4-cylinder engine. The WRX has a very smooth ride even when taking curves at much higher than legal speeds. It grips the road like almost no other car I have driven before. Test drive it once and you will be aching to get one. Test drive it twice and you might as well get out the checkbook for your down payment. It blew the other cars I test drove out of the water. My only concern is if the turbocharger will last past 60k miles. Also, acceleration doesn't really kick in until revved over 3000rpm.
