Worst Dealership Ever
Pros: all wheel drive
Cons: style, lack of ac in backDo not like a car that you cannot find parts except for dealership. This includes windshield wipers - wanted to charge me $80 but said they had none. Mechanic I went to got wiper from same dealer. I paid $44.00! This is only 1 of many issues I've had with dealership. Too expensive to maintain.
Pros: The sport shift / automatic
Cons: No program seat setting for two
Advice: Test drive it and fall in love.Took it out for a spin 2 years ago and fell in love but could not afford - waited 3 years and test drove it again and was still in love with it. I have always had standard vehicles and didn't like how automatic vehicle shifted and this B9 does it so nicely it is great / love the option of sport shift. The B9 is a wonderful vehicle.
Pros: Styling. While controversial, it has a unique style. You won't see every neighbor drivng one (i.e. Rx 330/350).
Cons: Gas mileage. Not that good and it requires Premium!!!
Advice: Don't let others prejudice (styling) influence your choice. We have had this car for 3 months. I bought it for my wife who initially wanted a RX 330 or a Volvo XC 90. Too many of her friends had them (5 alone on our cul-de-sac!!!). We were in search of quality (Subaru has a great history), balanced with performance and value. After researching all of the cars in this class (with a special nod to help from Consumer Reports), we made the choice. Have not regretted it! A Great vehicle for our four season weather here in Chicagoland.
Pros: Car rides great and is smooth
Cons: My service from the factory has been beyond sub- standard...
Advice: Hope your service is better than what I experienced..I have a new Tribeca B-9 fully loaded. At 14,000 miles the AC went out. This car has been at the dealership now for 10 days- still waiting on the part from Subaru to fix this...Subaru has no idea where the part is or when it will be in. I have never been so exasperrated with an automobile in all my life. I also have a Subaru Forester that is 2 years old with no problems at all. One would hope that Subaru's high end luxury vehicle would be serviced better than this...A great car if you don't mind waiting 2 weeks to get a simple issue fixed. In South Texas an air conditioner in the summer is a must... I used to be a great Subaru fan----now if they ever do get this fixed I may take a financial bath on this car and just trade it in on a more reliable manufacturer.....a real bummer.....this has the potential to be a great car...
Pros: interior is nice looking. kinda cheap material and fragile but better looking than most its competitor. handles well on rain.
Cons: the pillars are a bit too large. a bit pricey.
Advice: test drive on roads you know well and take turns as hard as you could handle to know if it's right for you. as far as driving i love it but quality, its too early for me to tell if its going to break down on me.I bought my subaru b9 7 seat limited about a week ago (4/18/06) and i have to say that i have so much fun driving it. even my cousin who has owned a lexus rx300, bmw x5, and currently a porche cayanne S(rough ride, i guess because of its sports supension) loved the comfort of the drive. it absorbs the many pot holes that we have in our city. i take turns as fast as i would on my fwd car without worries. it does have a noticeable body roll but i get around the turn just fine. i love the awd system, interior layout and exterior, it makes driving and buying this suv worth it. BUT I'M STILL A MITSUBISHI EVOLUTION FAN.(just waiting for the evo x to come)
Pros: My favorite feature is its driving ease.
Cons: No complaints whatsoever!
Advice: Keep it filled with plenty of gas because you'll want to drive it everywhere!I've had my Tribeca since December 10, 2005. Having driven in over 30 Chicago winters, I couldn't wait for the first 'big snow' to see how my Tribeca would perform. Well, all winter long its performance was consistently awesome! Its ride is comfortable, not only for the driver but for all of its passengers as well. 'Becky's' performance continues to get high marks, no matter what the weather conditions are. Although I'm only 5'1, I've had no problems with 'blind spots' while driving. Since the first day I drove my Tribeca home, I continue to be amazed at how smooth and quiet its ride is. I absolutely love my Tribeca!
Pros: Second raw if great for three people. GPS is easy to use and it is very helpful.
Cons: No front 12v outlets for hand free cell phone, doesn't come with wooden dash even for top paid models.
Advice: Buy , - it is a best SUV for value !!!I like this car. Drive it is a pleasure. Suprisely roomy inside. Very stylish , unique on a road and attracts attention. Comfortable seats , extremely small U-turn radius. Quite engine. AWD great on a ice and a snow !!! Three people seat comfortable on a second raw. But acceleration from 0 to 60Mph could be much better. DVD player required to use remote control every time after turn on to switch from CD(default) to DVD mode, - stupid.
