2002 Honda Civic - EX (M5) Sedan
Submitted on 11/13/2001 7:07:45 PM- Summary
Pros: The moonroof and cruise control (a must have for me)
Cons: The small-car
Advice: Do your online research first.
This car handles very well. The ride is rougher than I was used to but then I was currently driving a larger car and used to a smoother ride. However, I enjoyed the test drive so much I bought it!

2002 Saturn S-Series - SC1 (M5) Coupe
Submitted on 11/9/2001 4:56:15 PM- Summary
Pros: Fuel economy is excellent
Cons: Saturn Service is very poor
Advice: know your dealer, if problem persists, evolk the lemon law
The SC-1 seems to be a good car overall, the factory brakes are very poor, first problem was at 9,000 and replaced at 12,000 and I finally replaced the rotors with aftermarket at 40,000. The car would not track, the car was reatuned to the dealer 6 times for tracking problems and twice to independent alignment shops for evaluation. Tracking improved with new tires but still present. I am in the Auto Aftermarket business, I know cars, the service writers at three Saturn dealers have very poor automotive knowledge and I suffered the consiquences by not receiving the proper attention to my problems. E-mail to Saturn in KY went unanswered and Telephone calls to service managers were polite but problems never resolved. I would not recomend this car to anyone because of the poor service at the dealer level!

2002 Chevrolet Impala - LS
Submitted on 11/7/2001 7:45:35 PM- Summary
Pros: The sporty looks and plenty of power.
Cons: I haven't found anything that I don't like so far.
Advice: Compare features and price with others closely, then drive it.!!
The Impala is a real Hoot to drive. Plenty of power and a great comfort level fot the modest price. It has made driving fun again as the ride and handling are truely performance oriented. I had two Blazers that I liked to drive, but the Impala has given me a new and exciting feeling of raw but refined automotive excellence. Congrats to the Chevy engineering team for a GREAT vehicle that is affordable to all. I just love it.!!!

2002 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Sedan
Submitted on 11/1/2001 8:22:35 PM- Summary
Pros: The motors power output.
Cons: none
Advice: Just buy it.
First, just like any other car maker you have to find a dealer that will treat you the way one wants to be treated. The Elantra GLS is everything they say it is. Good looking, plush inside, and all and all a great deal that no other manufacture can beat. The ride and performance of this car is the best of many worlds. The ride is smooth, but nimble. You can go out for ride in comfort but also rip down a back road curve or two. The power output of the motor needs to be felt and seen. Romping down on the pedal brings the car to life and the tack dancing, like that of most sports models. No slug here, the Elantra GLS has power to spare. All in all once you get through the purchase of the car, bad or good, you will be left with a car that will always leave you pleased about your choice.

Pros: There are three things I like most about the 2002 Monte Carlo SS...it's appearance, handling, and the On-Star Security.
Cons: Two things I like least include the 'pull knob' for the headlights (which seems outdated) and turning on the fog lights each time you restart the engine is cumbersome.
Advice: With the access consumers have to internet information, I would simply suggest to fully research your vehicle(s) of choice before visiting a dealership. Being an informed consumer will help you, AND the dealership get you into the auto of your choice!!
The Monte Carlo has a smooth ride and decent acceleration. Being a former Pontiac Grand Prix owner, I was skeptical about moving on to another vehicle. I wasn't sure I would be happy owning anything but another Grand Prix. I was pleasantly surprised with the handling and ride of the Monte Carlo. Driving on the highway is great...the Monte Carlo offers a smooth ride and is just fun to drive. The sleek look, exterior and interior is classic, yet sporty! The built in On-Star security system also offers peace of mind. On-Star assistance, combined with the On-Star calling features were a great selling point.
