Pros: 5 speed
Advice: get a bumper protector instaled at dealerhandled great good pickup good foot room for driver and passenger also a 6ft person can sit in the back comfertable
Cons: NO 6 speed
Advice: Buy itI was one of the 1st people in Oregon to get a TC. It took some shopping but I lucked into mine. (I was only going to a test drive at a dealer that had the 5 speed-I drove it, and the salesman asked if I liked it. I told him yes I wish I could buy it-and he said why not?. I had thought they only had this one for test drives...so I bought it! I now have 30,000 miles on it and I still love it. It could use a 6 speed tranny though. That is about the only change that I would make. I get 28-30 mpg commuting, and 30-33 on trips to the beach or central Oregon.
Pros: The after the sale upgrade capabilities- fun
Advice: Get the body kit and pedastal spoiler- these truly balance the cars stylingHello motorsport enthusiasts ! I am 40 years old and this is only my second new car purchase. I am sooooooo impressed with my 06 Tc ! The quality of the materials used inside this car are truly first class. This car has so much more to offer than any of its like class competitors. Performance/looks/and overall durability- all for a very reasonable price. I was very fortunate- my nautical blue Tc was burried in the back lot of the dealership and I was the first person to test drive it(it had 1 mile on it).I drove less than that and was sold on this car ! Mine has nearly all the appearance options inside and out. My Tc is such a pleasure to drive. So far I got 28 mpg on my first tank of gas- not bad considering this car isn't broken in yet(300 miles on the Od). I am excited about adding more to this car, playing with it. Buying this vehicle has restored my overall passion for cars and i am soooooo looking forward to adding an exhaust system and other performance enhancing items. As of yet I haven't seen another Scion Tc like mine where I live. But, I'm sure this will change very soon as more people realize this cars value and potential.
Advice: Just drive one!Just ordered mine yesterday. I didn't actually plan on buying a car (much less a new car) this soon but was floored by the tC. It accelerates very much like my mom's Maxima, which I love to drive. I also drove a Tiburon and a Civic, both of which felt sluggish after the Scion.
Pros: TWO Sunroofs!!!
Advice: Be sure you consider many other options so you're sure of your decision - you won't be sorry!!!I wanted to downsize from a mid-sized luxury car. For about 4 months I passively searched for an affordable, sporty car with a feminine yet strong, stately appearance. When I saw the tC online, I was immediately impressed, particularly with all the standard options. I traded my car for the Scion and I haven't had any regrets! Everyone who hears that I traded a luxury car for a Toyota thinks I have lost my mind. But when they see MY Scion (w/the Bilet Grille, tinted windows, and racing wheels added by my dealer!!!), they immediately see why - it's awesome!!! I've had several new cars but this tops the stack - great job, Toyota!!!
Pros: Comes packed with options...standard
Cons: Bit of a blind spot.
Advice: If you are looking for an exceptional vehicle for an exceptional price, look no furtherMy friend owns a 2005 Tc, I bought one a month after I test drove his! The quality, performance and overall look of the vehicle far surpass anything even near it in price. I would be paying thousands more for some of the features that come standard on this car.
Pros: The exterior design
Cons: the rear window has no wiper.
Advice: Make sure you work on the exhaust and air intake to improve the MPG.My tC handles like a boxcar (I mean that in a good way). The car is very low to the ground but not low to the point where every little bump on the road can be felt while driving. I could see a little improvement with perhaps some sway bars. I changed the stock air filter and put in a K&N Replacement Air Filter, I also added the TRD Axle Back Exhaust (which doesn't void the warranty according to the Scion dealership) and by doing that, the car's gas mileage and horsepower improved. Half a gas tank gets me about 210-miles of driving (highway and city combined). Great price, all you really need is to throw in a few performance improvements and the car really shines.
