Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Appearance, performance, quality, standard equipment
Cons: Fuel economy
Advice: Get the Azure Pearl (best-looking color for this car)I'm a long-time subcompact owner, and I was looking to replace my wonderful (but bland) Honda Civic. I read quite a bit about Scion, particularly the tC (didn't quite fit Toyota's target demographic being 48, but oh well). When I finally got the chance to test-drive one, I was hooked! The tC may be the best automotive value you can get for under $18,000. WHAT I LIKE: 1. Standard equipment(have yet to get any add-on accessories; don't need 'em! Lots of cool places to store your stuff, too) 2. Overall appearance (the car turns heads; I recommend the Azure Pearl finish, although this is apparently the hardest color to find) 3. Comfort (seats 4 adults comfortably; it's roomier than it looks) 4. Drivability (more than adequate acceleration, responsive handling, solid feel on road) 5. Quality (looks more expensive than it is; excellent fit-and-finish of materials) WHAT I DON'T LIKE 1. Fuel economy is a bit below-average for a subcompact. 2. Minor blind spot at the C-pillar. 3. Toyota may have a clear idea about how they want to market and sell this car, but I'm not sure the dealers do; almost seems as if they don't know how to sell it, and finding the color you want (particularly the above-mentioned Azure Pearl) might be difficult, depending on where you live. 4. Optional equipment (spoiler, foglamps, stereo upgrade) are a little pricey.
Pros: The moonroof.
Cons: Theres not one.
Advice: GO GET ONE!I test drove this car and fell in love with it. I went back the next day and bought it! I had a 2001 Jeep Grande Cherokee, with tons of room in it, to a car with not as much, but I absolutley love it! You would think the back seat would be cramped, but actually there is a lot of leg room back there, just not so much head room for those tall ones. You will LOVE this car! Go get one!
Pros: all the extras. comes standard with moonroof and a/c is awesome
Cons: the exterior styling needs a little work
Advice: get one nowawesome!
Advice: Go for it, and buy this car! This car is bomb. It is the best car yet. The acceleration is smooth and easy, great steering, & my favorite part is the sunroof! I have an automatic, white 2006 scion tc with the rear lip spoiler and iPod hookups. It is worth what you pay for it. You also get great gas mileage! I can fillup my tank with around $20.
Pros: Speaker System
Advice: It's an awesome car, perfect buy!Really nice car. Sporty and affordable. I got the 2006 Special Edition and I love it. Drives wonderful!
Pros: When you drive this car it does not feel like you are driving a low cost vehicle
Cons: Gas mileage - should be higher
Advice: Buy it....I have an SUV and a BMW Z4 convertible. I decided I was going to buy a small car to drive for work since I tend to put a lot of miles on my car. After checking out the small car market nothing compares to this car when you come to options and value
Pros: Pioneer system
Cons: Nothing...I love it!!
Advice: BUY IT!!!My 2002 VW Jetta broke down on me completely with only 65,000 miles on it. (don't buy VW) So I was in desperate need of a new car. I test drove the Dodge Caliber, Honda Civic, and Toyota Corolla, I couldn't make up my mind as to which car to get. Neither of these cars had the 'complete' package. It was 2 weeks of stress and became overwhelmed, until I came across the Scion TC. I have to admit that buying my 2006 Tc was the best choice I have ever made in my life!! I love this car!!!, it has the look, quality, comfort...and best of all it gives me great mpg!!!
