2005 Scion xA - (A4)
This is a great commuter car since the gas mileage is good, but not great for such a small car. It lacked power when it comes to continuous hill climbing road trips. Overall the handling is great with sports suspension that came original equipped, rather impressive. It's reliable for sure, not a surprise since it's a Toyota. I still would recommend this car to friends, but probably a manual transmission so the lack of power is not going to be so noticeable.

Hard to beat!
Pros: room for all
Cons: seats/ride
Over all you can't fault much. Three negatives.... Headlights have been blinding people since day one and can't be adjusted low enough. Seats are WAY TO SHORT in the butt. Only your butt and the top 3rd of your thigh is on any cushion. Rides like a buckboard on the highway.... no suspension travel, stiff springs, tires have no sidewalls to cushion ride. Mileage and performance is spectacular.... just don't plan any long trips. (50+ miles)- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? Yes

2009 Scion XB
Pros: the look
Cons: the non automatic off of interior & exterior lights
I love my softly rounded box, great pickup and go, and it handles nicely. The interior though is somewhat plastic looking, and scuffs show easily. I also fault the VERY low tone of alarms for leaving your lights on and seat beats warnings. I have a hearing deficit, so I ended up leaving my lights on a few times as I adjusted to a car that does not have automatic light turnoff. I believe this is a huge safety issue, both the low tone, and the non-automatic lights off. My family agree the warning tones, are very hard to hear, even for those with regular hearing ability. If you were to leave your lights on in an unsafe area, and you come out with a dead battery, this could become a HUGE safety issue. You have to love Scion's pure pricing with all your options loaded from the start: cruise, stereo, power windows, mirrors, etc, the automatic lights off/on was a poor choice to be left out.- Recommend this vehicle to a friend?
