Advice: stay away from 4 cylinder engineWe have purchased the 2008 Saturn Vue XE,which is the 4 cyl. What a mistake, if you are driving this vehicle on the highway, dont try to set the cruise any above 60 MPH, its constantly shifting back and forth, trying to mantain speed. With 1800 miles on it we are considering tradeing it for the 6 cylinder. Other than that its a great vehicle.
Pros: On Star
Advice: Get the V6The roominess of the car is great and the appearance is stlyish. I would definately get the V6 engine and the front seats could be a bit roomier. Leg room is great both front and rear. Has a very smooth highway ride alothough the engine is a bit noisy. Good amount of cargo space and storage. Could use a bottle holer in the door. The power window switches take some getting use to and the sound system sucks.
Pros: Exterior look
Cons: Interior upper trim for sun glasses
Advice: You would appreciate any model vehicle with a factory Navigation System. The wife and I each owned 2004 VUE's. I later replaced mine with a 2006. The wife bought her 2008 VUE XR a few days ago. With 257 HP, 6 speed auto transmission, interior trim and the very sporty exterior! You CAN'T COMPARE to the double priced SUV's. We are just sorry there was not one available with the navigations system when she bought. With Saturns 30 day/1500 mile return policy, we're looking!
Cons: Radio sound system
Advice: Get the V6.Just purchased 07 Vue (less that 3K current miles). Excellent SUV. The V6 engine delivers a lot of get up and go. confortable on long trips, Turning radius is GREAT! size is perfect, especially to town driving. Biggest disappointment is sound system. Bought the upgraded radio system with the sub-woofer in read. Even with bass set to max, and fade set to rear, you can barely hear any sound coming from speaker. NOT worth the additional cost.
Pros: the color....cypress green
Cons: I didn't get a sunroof.
Advice: Its a great SUV for the money...I wanted a 2007 Honda CRV but I am VERY glad I got the Saturn Vue!!I bought a 2006 2 weeks ago and I LOVE the way it rides and drives...my fiance was skeptical at first but now he loves it as much as I do!!!
Pros: Engine and AWD.
Cons: Interior quality is not up to competition.
Advice: Shop around and you will find the performance/value is hard to beat.Excellent power and handling. After 21,000 miles I have had no problems and get a consistent 18-20 mpg around town. Onstar and XM radio are excellent additions. All wheel drive performed well this winter. Very satisfied with the vehicle.
Cons: Front door handle locations and arm rest design
Advice: go for power seats on both driver and passenger sideVery responsive and excellent handling. The electric power steering is much better than I ever imagined.
