Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Bought my 2003 vue off the lot that January. Still own it today! Other than the usual wear and tear and maintenaice it has had no real problems. It is very reliable in winter. I manage to get through some pretty bad winter storms with my Saturn. It handle snow conditions with no problems. Manage to get to work during many blizzards when others could even make it down a street. Wish Saturn still made Vues, I was hoping to buy another newer model.
good vehicle for the money
Cons: That is is a 4 cylinder and not a 6I did my reshearch with all the Suv's on the market at that time and I kept going back to the Saturn Vue for the overall look and appeal it has . I Love this Suv . It is just about to hit 10,000 mile and still drives like new . I have to say I have kept up with it's needs to keep it running like new .If any of you are considering a used Saturn Buy it . They are Great Cars . Sorry to have seen them go .
Pros: THE GAS MILEAGE!!!!!!!!!
Cons: The interior seems a little cheaply made
Advice: Be confident in this choiceI love my Saturn VUE!!! I have a 2003 model and besides the interior being a little boring it's excellent! There are SO many awful reviews about them and it's rediculous. I haven't had any of these problems that some of these people have had. So, if you're looking to buy a VUE don't worry, they are good, affordable, and reliable suv's.
Pros: Nice body
Cons: the transmission
Advice: DON'T GET THIS CAR USED!!!!!!!I got a used Saturn Vue with 56500 miles last Thursday, I took it back to the dealer the next day because it had a strange sound coming from the front end. I took it to a Saturn dealer for service... turns out it needs a new transmission. The VTI transmission is a lemon and anyone who has this car knows that... I am definitely trading this one in. Apparently this is not the first time the transmission on this car has given in. If you are going to get a used car, this is not the car for you, really, its bad enough new!!!!
Pros: getting rid of this vehicle
Cons: the vehicle
Advice: do not by this vehicleI purchased this vehicle and had it in the shop approx. 15 times. they replaced the front end rear end and the drive shaft. I will never by a GM vehicle again.
Cons: quality and horn
Advice: don't buyI bought this new VUE in 2003, a top of line, V6 AWD with all safety features including side airbag. Saturn has usual good rep about safety, however, the 2003 VUE has a design problem with the horn when you need it. It won't react in emergent situations. As it requires pin point accuracy to press right on the mark. Later year model solved the problem with a differnt design. However, I wonder when the government wil have a recall on 2003 and other year models with same design. Comparing to my other japanese models, VUE has problem constantly. The alignment caused me 4 tires already (my VUe is only 40,000 miles) and Saturn said it is my driving, not their problem. They gave me some restaurant gift cars and closed my disputes. I just replace the bettery only about after 2 years owning the VUE. The battery usually has 60 months warranty. But the dealer said sorry, you have 3/36k. Ironically, the new battery I bought from dealer carrys 60 months warranty, but not the original one. 2003 VUE has a great value in terms of price comparing to other model. It looks good. But that's about it. The reseller value is much worthy than my other Honda civic.
