    2002 Saturn S-Series - SC2 (M5) Coupe

    Pros: GAS MILEAGE

    Cons: FAULTY SUNROOF

Advice: DON'T GET ONE WITH SUNROOF

I bought my '99 SC2 coupe used in 2001 for my first car and since then, have added over a 100000 to the original 35000. My number one complaint is the sunroof gave out only eight months after buying the car. I've heard that this is a common problem with Saturn sunroofs. Second, the doors don't seem to seal completely, which I have also noticed with my mother's '02 Saturn L300. Third, I hate the cloth seats that collect so much lint and also are uncomfortable for extensive travelling. Other than that, this car is very economical and inexpensive to maintain. This was a good first car.

    2002 Saturn S-Series - SC1 (M5) Coupe

    Pros: Accel and upholstery

Cons: Rides quite low to the ground

Advice: This has made a great first car for me so far, and should for anyone else.

I recently bought a 2001 SC1 and I've had it for about 2 months now. So far i've been very pleased with it. One thing I noticed was that it has amazingly quick pick-up for it's small engine. I've tried the automatic in an SL and I recommend getting a manual if you would like more acceleration. It came with cloth interior and I enjoy its feel. And by the way, it hasn't misfired once and it has 42,000 miles on it from the previous user. I don't believe that this is a problem in most saturns. But overall, i'm very pleased.

    2002 Saturn S-Series - SC2 (M5) Coupe

    Pros: engine power

Cons: interior space (esp. back seat)

Advice: make sure you are comfortable in the seats.

When I was looking for a car, I wanted something that had good gas mileage. I discovered most were awkward, lightweight low power vehicles. Then I tried the SC2. This car had a wonderful mix of power and economy. During the test drive, I had to make a quick pass of a car to make my turn. I was sold right then. The downside is the size. The low profile of the car makes a very short interior. Its hard for people to sit in the back seat. Its a great car for 1 or maybe 2 people, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are often going to have more. If your looking for a commuter car and you really like to drive, then I highly recommend it.

    2002 Saturn S-Series - SL2 (M5) Sedan

    Pros: seats

    Cons: cup holder placement.

Advice: This is definately a keeper

We owned a 1994 SL1. This car was totalled in a flood. We then purchased a 2001 SL2. We love this car. The SL1 was a manual transmission and handled fantastically. The only complaint that we had for the original was the cost of the a/c replacement ($1000 +). The 2001 SL2 is an automatic and we have taken this car on several trips with no problems. The only depressing thing is that the S-series is no longer being made, it was replaced by the ION. Will probably have to try a VUE next. The only draw back is the placement of the cup holders. The front holder in the console impedes use of the climate control.

    2002 Saturn S-Series - SL1 (M5) Sedan

Pros: Handling and control while driving.

Cons: Cramped when entering/exiting the vehicle.

    Advice: Fabulous vehicle

Smooth steering and control. Acceleration good, excellent when hitting the passing gear. Efficent design. Gas mileage, suburban stop-and-go driving is 30-31 mpg. Very good switch placement, excellent stereo sound system, large trunk. Weakness noted: cramped drver area for 6' tall man when entering or exiting the vehicle, comfortable while driving. I have had disatisfying experiences in owning other GM vehicles, but have fallen in love with this car.
