    2002 Saab 9-3 - SE 4dr Hatchback

Pros: Turbo, speed alarm, gas mileage, ACC, sunroof, cockpit feel, hatchback

Cons: lack of cup holders and center console, No headroom in back for people over 6 feet tall

Advice: buy one now if you want a hatchback, 5 speeds are hard to get

Wanted to get rid of my 2000 Blazer 2 door 4X4 because of gas mileage and suspension. I always like the Saabs unique look and when I saw what they were leasing for I had to check one out. I am glad I did because they had $3500 in rebates until the end of July (Something BMW will never have). The car fits me like a glove. It is quicker than everything else I have ever driven. The suspension is stiff but still compliant. The gas mileage of 22-32 will be much better than 11-22 I got in my Blazer. Very little torque steer unless you get on it when pulling away from a stop when making a left or right turn. I bought a midnight blue 5 speed Saab 9-3 SE 4 door hatch with the premium package and heated seats. Tons of room in the hatch area for storage. Excellent fit and finish, compare it to only the best of sport luxury cars.

    2002 Saab 9-3 - SE 4dr Hatchback

Pros: The turbo blows all other cars out of the road

Cons: Cup holders and the lack of a center counsel and rear center head rest

Advice: Drive it and compare it. SAAB is on top

My 9-3 is incredible. The only problem came recently at 15,000 miles. Throttle body went out, but SAAB service took care of the the 200 mile tow to the nearest SAAB dealer as well as all other repairs. What other hatchback can hit 140 mph and still ask for more. Very unique.

    2002 Saab 9-3 - SE 4dr Hatchback

    Pros: Road handling and speed

Cons: Computer read out; no center console

Advice: Buy smart! Fully tricked out this car should cost no more than $27K!

You'll see it elsewheres: drive this car. Feel the 'pop' of the turbo going from 40 to 60 in about .5 seconds. If you like the feel of a cockpit, if you want to be singular on the road, drive a Saab. This car loves curves, and churns out 32 mpg on highways- plus takes 87 petro!

    2002 Saab 9-5 - Aero Sedan

Pros: Extremely comfortable seating position. Easy to drive.

Cons: Really haven't found it yet.

Advice: If you're looking for performance get the Aero model with the automatic transmission.

The newly designed 9-5 Saab Aero for 2002 has blazing acceleration from it's 250 HP turbo engine, excellent handling characteristics, and incredible comfort with it's bolstered seats. The suspension has been stiffened for 2002 and the 17 inch wheels allow it to hug the ground. The car has a wonderful feel and balance on all kinds of road surfaces. It's effortless to drive at low speeds. The new automatic transmission is a sealed unit designed to handle the extra torque of the increased horsepower. In addition to its normal shift pattern, the new automatic transmission has 3 additional modes, (W) for winter, (N) for normal, and (S)for sport. Brake disks are larger and vented, and the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) keeps the wheels from slipping and provides maximum traction on the road in addition to correcting for pitch and yaw. Check out the new bi-xenon lights that give off twice the lighting over halogen units. This vehicle is a fabulous piece of engineering with all of the accessories you would expect to find on a much more expensive automobile. Give it some consideration, you won't be sorry.

    2002 Saab 9-3 - SE 4dr Hatchback

    Pros: TURBO

    Cons: price, service/maintenance required

Advice: if you like to drive try SAAB at least once!

Nice solid ride yet very fun to drive. Buttons and displays are well positioned. SAAB needs to enter their vehicles in crash tests. Handles well in snow and bad weather. Better than BMW or Volvo.

    2002 Saab 9-5 - 2.3t Linear Sedan

Pros: The engine and road feel.

Cons: I had to pay extra for leather. At these prices leather should be standard.

Advice: Do your homework and get the right 9-5 for you. The Linear represents the best value if configured with the right options.

A quality piece of work! The newly refreshned 9-5 is more refined in every respect. I bought the base Linear with a few options such as leather, stability control sysytem, and upgraded sound sysytem. Although I have the 5spd. tranny, the auto is especially good for those so inclined. I get all the performance I need while getting 32 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg in the city. The ride is smooth and always controlled. Great seats and outstanding interior design.
