2006 Saab 9-3
Saftey and Fun in One
Pros: Safety
Cons: none
This is our 2nd Saab 9-3 Convertable ,what can one say. It handles nicely great in the snow and several standard safety features. don't listen to the critics or posters that have never even drove the cars they comment on. Saab has a great warranty program to back it.Our last Saab convertable was involved in a collision,my wife was hit in the driver door at 50mph. It pushed her 50 ft. through an intersection. After the jaws of life cut the door to get her out she walked away with just a bruise from the seat belt. Does safety have a price ?. All cars peform well in front or rear impacts but a lateral hit is the true test of a great automobile.- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? Yes

2007 Saab 9-3 - 2.0T Sedan
Pros: none
Cons: the car
Advice: don't buy it
2006 SAAB 93 2.0T - 20000miles. 'Gear box malfunction' message came on. I took the car to the dealer, paid $105 for the diagnostics. They said it just needs software updates. They did that, I took the car from there. Went with it 2 miles, the same message came on. Took the car back to the dealer. Now they say is the transmission and the estimate for replacing it is $ 3300 (even though, when I called the same dealer they told me the transmission is $1565 and labor is $1005)....weirdddd. Ohh...and when I asked the service guy from the dealer how about the warranty on the new transmission, he told me laughing: 12000 miles. at the question: ' Does that mean that the new one will break at 13000 miles?', the dealer guy just answered 'Maybe'. Anyways, I never thought a transmission can go down at 20000 miles. One thing is for sure: I'll never buy another saab in my life. Not only the car broke, but both the dealer and the central Saab don't want to talk about the problem (they say they do not know the cause....weird...specially because I paid for a diagnostics) so, do you still want to buy a saab? -
2006 Saab 9-3 - Aero Sedan
Pros: I love the chic look of this vehicle
Cons: The front bumper is so low that you have to CONSTANTLY be aware of not scraping it while parking, or going out of driveways.
Advice: GO FOR IT!
This car is fantastic! It has so many features and is very luxurious. The quiet motor and quick acceleration makes driving this car a lot of fun. It handles really well. The seats are very confortable. The sound system is excellent, although it takes a bit getting used to the controls. There are a lot of bells and whistles that make this car such a joy.For example....cooling glove box, water jets on headlamps, small pass-thru from trunk to back seats. -
2006 Saab 9-3 - 2.0T Sedan
Pros: acceleration and handling
Cons: computer/radio controls
Advice: get it with heated seats and moonroof.
The car is nimble and quick though there is a very slight but brief lag from the turbo when you step on it. The car feels well put together, sturdy, compact, and safe. The radio and computer are not simple to work but most of the features are not really necessary anyway. The car has a tight feeling both in terms of steering, control, and general cabin roominess. The option to shift manually is a welcome feature especially when you want to stop more quickly. The brakes are excellent as well and the downshifting and braking together brings the car to fairly quick and sure stops. Although slightly noisy when accelerating hard especially when the air is also on, the car is generally quiet enough. Great car overall.
