Deciding which candidate would be the winner of the 2013 Autobytel’s Truck of the Year award at first seemed like an easy decision, but a few surprise contenders came into the fold as the decision process began. When it came time to count the votes, a clear winner emerged; the RAM 1500. For 2013, Ram made minor changes to the exterior, interior, and number of comfort and convenience features. Under the Ram 1500’s skin is what really impressed us. New for 2013 is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 with 305 horsepower with an eight-speed automatic, a first in the truck class. Also a first is available air suspension which can lower the Ram 1500, improving aerodynamics and fuel economy. Autobytel’s Editor-in-Chief Michelle Naranjo presents the award to Bob Hegbloom of Ram at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.
