The Ram Truck Brand recently announced that the Zac Brown Band would be the fourth act to play at this year’s Ram Jam, an exclusive concert event that will see five of the top names in country music entertain fans at a small-stage setting in Nashville. The group will join Kellie Pickler, Brantley Gilbert, Easton Corbin and one more artist—who will be revealed in August—on Dec. 29, 2012, for an intimate evening of music that will only be enjoyed by winners of the Ram Jam sweepstakes.

It is, of course, part of a national promotion for the Ram 1500, which also will have a starring role in the festivities: All artists involved will receive a complimentary lease of a Ram pickup—Zac Brown will be rolling in a Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn model—then auction the truck for charity at lease end. For Brown, that means the new Camp Southern Ground, set to open in 2014 on 500 acres of land in Georgia that the musician donated for the project. The camp will be for children aged 7-17, with and without special needs, and build on efforts to “allow children to overcome academic, social and emotional difficulties so they may reach their full potential by providing them with the opportunity and tools necessary to achieve excellence in all facets of their lives."

“To me, there’s nothing more important than helping kids, and it’s great to know that with support from our friends and fans, this camp is going to make a huge difference in the lives of each and every camper,” said Brown.

Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn: Jammed with Features

The Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn debuted as the Truck of Texas in the annual Texas Auto Writers Association Truck Rodeo, and for good reason: It also debuted as the most luxurious Ram ever, with a sophisticated exterior upgrade that includes 20-inch chrome-clad wheels and distinctive Laramie Longhorn badging, as well as aggressive wheel flares, a bright chrome grille, and running boards from the Chrylser Group’s Mopar division. Drivers also can choose an exclusive Laramie Longhorn two-tone exterior appearance that showcases a Sagebrush main color and White Gold accents—also used to finish the truck’s bumpers and tow hooks—or match those accents with Bright White, Brilliant Black Crystal Peal, Rugged Brown Pearl or Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl.

Two different cabin themes are available, both boasting plenty of leather and wood. Drivers can opt for a dark slate gray interior that’s set off by a russet-hued premium seat leather with branded-on Laramie Longhorn accents or a pebble beige environment with bark brown seat leather and laser-etched accents. In either case, the all-leather seats also exhibit high levels of craftsmanship, with contrast piping and deck-seam stitching, along with unique front-seatback pockets designed to evoke the look of authentic western-style saddlebags, even to the point of featuring tooled-metal, steer-logoed buckles.

Also on the spec sheet:

  • A jewel-like Laramie Longhorn instrument cluster with filigreed, liquid chrome gauge rings
  • Burled walnut accenting on the center stack and door panels
  • A steering wheel and shifter wrapped in cross-stitched premium leather
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Aluminum sill plates
  • Power-adjustable pedals
  • 5.7 liters worth of HEMI V8, making 390 hp and 407 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Heated/ventilated front seats and heated rear seats
  • The Chrysler Group’s award-winning Uconnect system, incorporating a 6.5-inch touchscreen, GPS-enabled navigation, a rearview camera, Bluetooth technology and a nine-speaker, 506-watt Alpine sound system

Available exclusively in a Crew Cab configuration with a 5’7” box, the 2012 RAM 1500 Laramie Longhorn in on sale now with an MSRP that starts at $43,125.
