About the 2015 Porsche Macan:

An evolution of the Audi Q5, the new Porsche Macan is a compact, 5-passenger SUV emphasizing the “sport” portion of the equation more than it does “utility.” Still, it’s no slouch when it comes to carrying stuff. Up to 53 cu.-ft. of odds and ends will fit into the cargo area when you fold the rear seats down. At launch, the Macan S and Macan Turbo are available, to be joined by a Macan S Diesel at some point in the future.

Model Lineup:

At launch, the 2015 Porsche Macan lineup is comprised of the Macan S and the more powerful Macan Turbo.

Aside from powertrain differences, the Macan Turbo is equipped with bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System, LED fog lights, unique exhaust outlets, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and larger 19-inch aluminum wheels. The Macan Turbo also includes Porsche Communication Management (PCM) technology, a Bose premium audio system, 18-way adaptive sport seats with memory for the driver’s settings, leather upholstery, an Alcantara roof liner, and brushed aluminum interior trim.

Optional Equipment:

In addition to a wide variety of paint color, wheel design, exterior styling, cabin trim, and seating upgrades, Porsche offers several comfort, convenience, infotainment, safety, and mechanical upgrades for the Macan. You can even take delivery of your new Macan in Europe. Sounds like fun. Especially if you opt for the Sport Chrono Package, which includes a Sport Plus button that, when engaged, configures all mechanical systems to deliver maximum performance.

Engines and Transmissions:

The Porsche Macan S features a turbocharged, 340-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6 engine, a 7-speed automated manual gearbox (PDK), and standard active all-wheel drive with an Off-Road button for conquering more difficult terrain. With the optional Sport Chrono Package, 60 mph arrives in as few as 5 seconds.

Choose the Porsche Macan Turbo for a twin-turbocharged, 400-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine. As is true of the Macan S, the Macan Turbo is equipped with PDK and AWD. This model, though, is quicker, arriving at 60 mph in as little as 4.4 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package.

A Porsche Macan S Diesel is also coming to the U.S., and should accelerate the SUV to 60 mph in just over 6 seconds while returning impressive fuel economy.

Fuel Economy Ratings:

Speaking of fuel economy, both the Macan S and the Macan Turbo are rated to return 19 mpg in combined driving.

Safety Ratings:

As this summary is published, neither the NHTSA nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has performed crash tests on the 2015 Macan.

Technology Highlights:

Improve the Macan’s performance by ordering Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Power Steering Plus, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, and the adjustable air suspension. Porsche Entry and Drive makes it easier to hit the road, while high-end Burmeister premium audio components and Aha Online Services make the drive even more enjoyable.

Porsche also offers adaptive cruise control with Porsche Active Safe, Lane Change Assist, and Lane Keep Assist technologies to help ensure that you arrive at your destination with nary a coiffed hair out of place.
