The six-cylinder engine offers more power than you might imagine, and the suspension is tuned to maximize handling. As roadsters go, it would be very difficult to beat this one. The top goes down in a mere 12 seconds, and the engine hums along beautifully. For all that you get, the price is nice - around $47,000.

Advice: nonelooking to purchase a sports car. have driven vettes, boxters and 911s. Have to say that so far the boxter was the car that made me smile ear to ear. Handles and sounds better then the vette and the 911. Im torn on what to purchase cause the vette looks so dam nice!!! But like i said the boxter ate them for lunch in the fun around town dept. As much fun as hammering around town on my motorcycle and thats a whole lot of fun!!!!!

Advice: Drive one. Buy a used one. Porsche depreciation the first two years is substantial.I went to the dealer to see about trading my 2004 911 convertible for a 2006 911 coupe. Drove and didn't like the coupe as much. I drove a standard Boxster as a whim and was very impressed. Compared to a 911 convertible the Boxster is a better car. The Boxster has lots of power (although noticeably less than a 911, as is true with most cars). It has more accurate steering, a better gearshift, smoother ride with better cornering feel, has a much less windy cockpit, a much better sounding engine, more luggage space, and is way cheaper! Fuel economy averages 26mpg overall, routinely 31 on the highway. I thought my old Miata was the ultimate handling sports car. Not so. A Boxster is the king.

Everything Porsche is an option it seems.After driving a friend's '04 C4S, an 07 C2 S, 05 Viper and my own Corvette C5 I found true love in my 06 C4S. I got the Tiptronic (yeah, I know) but my left foot forgives my right foot since the left can finally rest when I'm otherwise busy or in traffic even though my right foot can't get the extra .2 seconds speed it usually seems to prefer. No more side slipping take offs like in rear wheel drive and show-off hard turns do not embarrass most drivers by pressure testing off-road obstacles and giving pre-Christmas gifts to the body shop guys.
