2006 Porsche Boxster - Base (M5)
Submitted on 4/13/2012 12:17:21 PM- Summary
- Just a fabulous, comfortable driving car. You can drive sedately in comfort or push the car to your limits in the same comfort. It is predictable and precise. The best driving car I've ever owned or driven.

- If you want to get excited every time you have to go somewhere. If you want a car that gets 21-23 mpg mixed driving. Buy a Boxster! The handling is excellent. The engine runs beautifully and is matched to the transmission perfectly. It is an automatic and pushing the pedal hard or soft initiates a beautiful synchronized humming on up to your desired speed. Fabulous! This is what a car should be. Sell everything else you have and buy one.

2006 Porsche Boxster

Pros: Seat comfort. Sports steering wheel (option). Bose. Nav.
Cons: Power, or lack of!
Overpriced status symbol. Looks great in Guards Red w/ 18' wheels, and handles very well. Don't like clutch, but shifts very well w/ Porsche short throw. Best nav system ever. If the Z4 weren't so ugly in '06, I'd prefer the Z4si. Love the new Z4! The Boxster in Red/Grey/Grey does turn heads & look sexy. Great on highways and good mileage on road. Power seats are a great option. Needs a 6 CD player at that price. Car stickered at amost 60K with 18 inch S wheels & all the options. needs more power for those bucks. Brakes are very good, and stops on a dime. Heard Boxster S brakes are very good (even better) as far a stopping ability but problematic. Prefer the BMW for the money. First Boxster & last. May keep it a long time for summer fun. New ones have direct injection which is a problem in all cars. Build up carbon deposits and very expensive to replace. Not make for US gas.
