    2006 Pontiac Solstice - Base

Pros: I like the styling of this roadster.

Cons: I like everything about it.

Advice: If you want a convenient car then don't buy it. No trunk space.

If you want to join the miles of smiles club then buy this car! It corners like it is on rails and is very peppy to drive. This car will not win a race but it was not meant too. This is one of the most amazing vehicles on the road, and clearly the best value in the roadster market. Go order one now!

    2006 Pontiac Solstice - Base

    Pros: Exterior look

    Cons: Reliability

    Advice: Buyer Beware!!!

My transmission failed after one day of ownership. I have been told by the Service Manager that the factory placed 'Contaminated Transmission fluid' into the car at the factory which caused the transmission to fail. Pontiac customer service will only say, 'Our priority is to repair the automobile.' I have hired a lawyer...but BUYER BEWARE!!! Now I know why GM is failing.

    2006 Pontiac Solstice - Base

Pros: The style, the look, the feel, the wind in your hair...

    Cons: The wait! 6 months

Advice: Load it up, it's worth it.

Who ever said money can't buy happiness never saw a Solstice...This is one of the most amazing vehicles on the road, and clearly the best value in the roadster market. It's impracticle, the trunk is small, and people won't leave you alone when you pull into a lot...it's PERFECT! A+++, the dream car of the decade.

    2006 Pontiac Solstice - Base

    Pros: Looks

    Cons: Reliability

Advice: Buy something else and skip the headaches

My wife saw this car on TV and fell in love. We bought our Solstice in October and now have 15,000 miles. This is a car that turns heads everywhere, is a blast to drive and handles like a dream. However, I would never buy this car again. It has been in the shop because of the rear carrier (differential) leaking 4 times and is now waiting for the arrival of it's 3rd complete carrier assembly. It has been in the shop this time for almost 3 weeks. It also had to have the rear trunk (deck lid) adjusted as it was not straight on the car. Pontiac has been great but the hassle isn't worth it.

    2006 Pontiac Solstice - Base

    Pros: The Monsoon Surround System

    Cons: The Convertible Top

Advice: Test drive and shop around, this car is known for price spikes

I had my Solstice for around 5 months. The steering was nice and communicative, but could have more solid. The gearbox was vague (does not match the car), the clutch springy like a mattress, and it never seemed to catch the engine's torque enough. The brakes do there job appropriately. I did love the interior, especially the smell, materials for the class. I hate the huge bulge protruding into the trunk space. Every door on the car gives you a work-out, you have to slam-it so many times to close it. I would chose this over a MX-5. I would not choose this over a Mini Cooper S, it drives better.

    2006 Pontiac Solstice - Base

    Pros: Looks

    Cons: Quality

Advice: Look at other makes and test drive them all before deciding

I drove a friends for about 2 hours the other day and I found the performance to be below average. I believe the turbo will solve this. I found the interior to have all the typical inexcusable rattles and squeaks that are common in American cars. The clutch and transmission felt sloppy and unrefined as is usually the case with American cars. In my opinion, buy something European or Asian with similar looks. These things will go the way of the Fiero - you'll see.
