Pros: Comfortable over long drives
Cons: Gas mileage not great - more like 18 city and 22 hwy. Headroom a little skimpy for a 6'6' driver
Advice: GM handles internet sales very well, If you are getting this as a family hauler, get the extended version. We've had this minivan for a year and a half and still love it. Great for long haul drives, handles well, pretty peppy even loaded up. Comfort and styling are terrific. Plenty of room for your 8 passengers.
Pros: Base vehicle comes with modular seats that are easy to lift out..
Cons: It's a minivan and drives like one.
Advice: Rebates & Discounts; purchased $ 26,000 list for $ 17,500. Keep on dealing!I have a growing family, son 3 1/2, daughter 11 months, and with all the usual gear (car seats, stoller, diaper bag, ect) there was no room left to carry anything else in our small sedans. I liked the Kia with all its options & low price, but didn't like 20 mpg highway & questioned Kia's first try at a minivan. Ford was too expensive & wouldn't/couldn't deal. The Pontiac was nicer than the Chevy (Too many Ventures on the road & they all looked the same). The Pontiac has a more sportier look (Our is silver w/black cladding), nice solid supportive seats, good mileage. There is no mistaking it for any thig but a minivan-don't try taking a fast sweeping turn too fast because it won't. But I purchased it to get my family around in confort at a price I could afford.
Pros: power sliding doors and dvd player
Cons: headrests are uncomfortable
Advice: Buy it, You'll Love it!This is the best van I have ever owned. I have had a Ford Windstar, Dodge Caravan, and a Chev. Lumina Van. My ford broke down a lot, the caravan was gutless and felt cheap, the lumina was great with 135,000 miles on it. I love all the features, especially the dvd player and power sliding doors and it gets great gas mileage. It has a very quiet ride and it is awesome to drive. I also like the look because it is a little different than every other mini-van out there. The only things I would change is the headrests and add lumbar support, otherwise it is perfect.
Pros: The dvd player
Cons: the air conditoner blowing the back of my head
Advice: shop around for the best priceThis van drove very well. It was so comfortable and easy to drive. It fit me like a glove.
Pros: radio controls on the steering wheel.
Cons: cup holders between the middle seats.
Advice: quad seating is the easiest for back row seating access. Manually adjustable seats are easier to adjust then the 6 way seating. This is our second Pontiac Montana, having traded in 2000 for our current 2002. This was and in our opinion still is the only minivan on the market that feels like you are driving a car instead of a van. It doesn't look like a traditional 'kid' vehicle, has a sporty exterior, but a family friendly interior.
Pros: VERSATILITY ... VERY CONVIENIENT... ELECTRIC SIDE DOOR
Cons: Hard to say ... maybe the armrest could have more cushion.
Advice: I would highly recommend the MONTANAI've owned a Pontiac Montana for 3 years .. it had to be repaired one time for a minor repair .. a small foreign made motor on the rear window had to be replaced ... it was repaired when I took it in for a routine oil change in less than a hour.... that's it. It's as reliable and comfortable as any Minivan on the road .. I would highly recommend the MONTANA ... I owned a Voyager for 9 years ... which was a good van also .. but the Montana is a step above ... it does most things better .. it rides quieter ... smoother and the Electric side door is fantastic ... it saves a lot of grief when loading and unloading .. especially in bad weather ... this van gets a 'work out' and takes it all in stride .. the gas miliage is better also .. the 185HP engine has 'guts' and is well suited. 4x8 sheets of material fit easily... you can close all doors and not even have to take seats out ... just fold the back seats down and the material rests on top of the back of the seat.... I just bought a Rendezvous that has the same drivetrain as our MONTANA ... I think it is the best going ... I've heard nothing but good about it... from mechanics ..and owners.
