2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - GTP

    Pros: 3.8L 260hp, 280lbs/ft of torque

Cons: Slight understeer at high speeds

Advice: If you want to race, buy a true sports car. If you make trips and enjoy driving too, buy this.

I purchased my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (Comp G) in January. It's perfect, in the sense that it's perfect for me. The leg room in the back isn't nearly as bad as the reviews say, although there could be more. As a bachelor and a teacher, it's great to have a car with a ton of trunk space, quality interior, beautiful exterior, and with enough options to make it luxurious. For the single/dating person out there with a job that requires you to haul stuff, this thing handles like it's on rails, and I've definitely gotten tons of compliments on it. Short of breaking the bank account on a sports car, this is best sports sedan I've run across. You aren't gonna beat the small sport coupes (maybe initally, but eventually their acceleration will kick in), but you'll tear up any other sports sedans off the line.

    2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - GT1

    Pros: ride comfort and horsepower

    Cons: Back Seat space

Advice: consider the GP 2 or GTP if you are wanting the highest in horsepower

I recently purchased a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GP 1 having traded in my 1999 Grand Prix. Im finding that the 2004 models wide track is nothing to compare to other models that I have driven. The design of the 2004 is sporty , sleek and priced right while also providing good fuel efficiency. The backseat does however limit leg room for passengers so this automobile may not be the designated 'family car' but for this baby boomer it works fine !!! Bravo to the engineers of Pontiac.

    2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - GT2

    Pros: Heads Up Display

    Cons: uncomfortable seats

Advice: take the vehicle for a test drive at night and test the vehicle several times

Poorly built car. The headlights shake and flutter when you drive at night. There is a lot of cabin noise, and the leather seats are very uncomfortable.

2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - GTP

    Pros: Tap shift

Cons: Quality of build - very poor

    Advice: Test drive at night

Build quality is poor. I would recommend you test drive at night, the headlights have a design problem (per Pontiac). While driving at night you will notice the headlights flutter.

    2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - GT1

    Pros: the color

    Cons: nothing

Advice: buy it you will love it !!!!!!!!!

The 2004 Grand Prix is an awesome automobile. It has very responsive handling and manuvuring for a car of its size. In fact it rings circles around the competion. From its new front end styling, which still includes the split pontiac grill, to its very fresh looking rear airspoliler the car says 'excitement'. The one I personally own is a GT1 in the fushion orange color, talk about a head turner, every onecompliments me on the car. Pontiac they build excitement!
