    2005 Pontiac Grand Prix

Pros: I love it smooth ride

Cons: Too low to the ground

I love how it handles the road, especially on a long distance trip. I love the way it just floats down the road. I like the weight of it; it makes me feel really safe on the road. I also like the sporty look.

2005 Pontiac Grand Prix - GT

    Pros: power

    Cons: radio display light dim

Advice: get it while you can

I bought a 1997 Grand Prix in 1998. I had it for 11 years. It still runs like a new car after a GM certified rebuilt Trani and a few other minor repairs @ over 160,000 miles. It could still beat any car on the road. When someone buys it for 2,000 they will get many more years out of it. I just bought a 2005 2 weeks ago. I love Pontiac. My car of choice for comfort and power. Very happy with my purchase and looking forward to another 11 years with this one while I can still drive one.

2005 Pontiac Grand Prix - GT

Pros: comfort and performance of engine

Cons: glovebox and decreased headroom compared to the '02 model, also the radio display is half burned out and you cant repair it- you have to get a new or refurbished radio-$300-500

Advice: The '04 models seemed to all have something wrong that we tried out - but then '04 was the first yr they changed the design- go with the '05!

We had 2 Grand Am GT's and now we have 2 Grand Prix GT's a 2002 and this 2005 which my husband drives. He absolutely loves it. Acceleration is great! The sound of the engine is growl-like when you punch it- which we love! Front seats are comfy. Nice curb appeal though i prefer the looks of my '02! Sporty but classy also. I hate the glove box- it has NO room and is designed weirdly. The headroom is not as good as the '02.Braking is awesome. Handling is superb. It gets 27-30 mpg on an average!!

2005 Pontiac Grand Prix - GT

    Pros: appearance

    Cons: undetectable starting problem

Advice: make sure it starts before you buy it

i recently bought this car, and havent driven it yet because it has been in the shop. there is a starting problem that no one can detect.i'll turn the key in the ignition, and it makes the right noise that its supposed to make, but then i dont hear the engine running, and it wont drive. after trying to start it a couple times it turns on correctly. i love this car and really hope the problem can be detected. if the problem isn't resolved, then this car sucks. i'm curious to know if anyone else has had this problem?

2005 Pontiac Grand Prix - GTP

    Pros: Supercharger

Cons: Back seat a bit hard and tight for adults.

Advice: Comp G is the way to go!

Love this car! Had a 2000 GP GT before this one. Both have been great cars. However, can't say enough good things about the 2005 with the Comp G package. The tight suspension handles great for a car of this size but some may consider the ride a bit harsh. Supercharged power makes this car a joy to drive. Power is instantaneous and strong. It will surprise many! Some features would be sorely missed in other cars. The HUD is easy to get addicted to as well as the hands free Onstar phone. Paddle shifters on steering wheel are fun but get used rarely. Cargo versatility is fantastic but at the expense of rear seat room.

2005 Pontiac Grand Prix - GTP

    Pros: Quick acceleration if needed

Cons: The window openings are very small due to the aero-dynamics

Advice: Do a consumer report before you purchase, take a long test drive in every driving condition

I purchased this 2005 GTP second hand with just over 25,000 miles. I am currently at 33,000 miles. I am experiencing problems that seem to relate to the electrical system. Some examples are: horn only works sometimes, the lights on the shifter do not work, the back window defroster will sometimes turn itself off and other times does not. I am also finding that the gear shifting is causing a lack of power at lower speeds which I think may be related to the torque converter lockup. It goes into tc lockup at the very time that I need to accelerate and seems to lug. I have to go ahead and kick it to make it come out of the tc lockup mode. I have had the car at the dealership and they tell me that they cannot find a problem unless it sets a computer code. There are no lights coming on in the dash to indicate a problem. I have been very dissatisfied with the dealership because I am getting very close to the end of my warranty. It seems that they do not want to find the problem until the warranty is out. I did not buy a supercharged vehicle to have a lack of power. When I first bought the car, it did not have this problem. It started and continues to get worse as I go. I am curious to know if anyone else is having these types of issues. I am located near Lynchburg, VA. If you have any of these problems, could you please post it? I will monitor this site.
