    2008 Pontiac Solstice

    Sexy no Frills Solstice GXP

    Pros: Very fun to drive.

    Cons: Lack of storage.

I purchased a 2008 new in Sept. 2009 shortly after the announcement of the demise of Pontiac. I got an excellent on a new Solstice GXP. First the good news the performance is excellent. The 2L tech-4 engine has the power curve of a 2-stroke dirt bike thanks to the turbo-charger. The very light chassis has the handling of a go-cart but is soft enough to be an everyday driver. I commute 2 hours one way to my job so I spend allot of time in this car. I also got the upgraded stereo with the bose speakers which is really necessary with the top is down. I plug my phone into the aux jack on the front of the head unit so I can listen to my music on Slacker internet radio and recieve phone calls while I drive. Without it I would not even hear the phone ring with the top down. With the top up the car is pretty quiet for a convertable, and a sports car. Now for the down side: The clutch engages very early and since the engine has very little torque on the low end it is easy to stall when starting in 1st gear. There is very little storage anywhere in the car but it is a sports car. Other minor functions like opening the windows require gymnastics to reach the controls. The top is a tight fit into the trunk. You have to really push it down to get the trunk to close and when it is

    2006 Pontiac Solstice - Base

    Pros: The way it looks

    Cons: The trunk

Advice: Buy it! The best value in the sports car world

This is one of the most enjoyable cars I have ever owned. Timeless looks, outstanding handling and a great value for a sports car. This car feels very comfortable hanging with cars substantially more expensive. Even though it is 4 years old, it still evokes comments and questions every time I go somewhere.

    2006 Pontiac G6 - GT Coupe V6

    Pros: how well it drives.

    Cons: gasemileage

Advice: I am sure which ever car you pick will be good but i strongly suggest a pontiac

When i seen it i knew it was the perfect car. So affordable, but not cheap looking. Rides like a dream, even looks like one. Everyone that see's my car loves it!!! I would recommend this car to anyone. The only problem i have with it is that it only gets 22 mile to a gallon. But thanks pontiac for another great car!!!!!!

    2006 Pontiac G6 - GT Coupe V6

Pros: Body styling and chrome wheels.

Cons: I don't really care for look of the rear end on the GT coupe.

Advice: Take heed to the negative customer reviews. I've had a couple of problems with things I had previously read about prior to buying the car. I ignored them. I had the wet seat belts and a faulty dome light. The dealership fixed both problems. Happy now.

I was basically sold on the test drive.

    2006 Pontiac G6 - Base 6 Cyl. Sedan

Pros: Engine performance and body style

Cons: They should eliminate the 4 cylinder engine and keep the 6 cylinder.

Advice: Buy the 6 cylinder and buy a 4 door. Get the sunroof

I bought my silver 4 door 2006 G6 1 1/2 yrs ago. It had 14,000 miles on it. I'm still in love with it. The 6 cyl engine is super quiet, yet powerful & responsive. The stering is very agile. It has a sunroof that does not leak. A great sounding stereo system. All the power options. A great buy for the money. So far I have not had any problems under the hood. It's been the interior where I've had a few problems. The power drivers seat frame broke. They replaced it. The outside temperature gage on the radio is late on updating the temperature. It'll be 70 outside in the afternoon, and the temperature will read 58 from the morning. Then all of the sudden it will update. The dealer has ordered a whole new radio because the temp gage is built in. I hate that because I dont want to part with the wonderful stereo system that I already know. Other than these two interior problems I have had no mechanical problems with the car. The engine is great. Make sure you get a sunroof and rally wheels. Forget the 4 cylinder. Anybody buying this car should get a 6 cyl.

    2006 Pontiac G6 - GT Coupe V6

Pros: The look of the interior

Cons: Could only get it up to 260 horses

Advice: Get the at least the GT

Amazing styling. The GT has great handling and acceleration. It comes with 224 horsepower but I got it up to about 260. Definitely a better buy than the toyota.

    2007 Pontiac G6 - Convertible

Pros: 4 seat hard top convertible

Cons: Trim items a bit flimsy.

    Advice: buy sunglasses.

Caveat: Just picked my convertible up over the weekend, so not a lot of experience to go on. But, I put 350 miles on it over a gorgeous weekend, top down the whole time. What blast. It has room for kids in the back and boy did they love it. A little tight, but we have another, bigger, car for longer family trips. But getting dropped off at school in the convertible made my son's day. The hard top makes it QUIET with the top up. Ride is smooth, good power. There aren't many 4 seater hard top convertibles on the market -- and none in this price range. Yeah, there's a little cheapness to some of the fit and finish itmes -- but that's what makes this so much more affordable than the C70 or the EOS. Highly recommended.
