    2003 Pontiac Aztek

Great vehicle, love the space, good mileage

Pros: Cargo carrier; seat adjustment; popout backseats

Cons: frame in middle of back windows at rearview eye level

This vehicle has great take off power, quick speed, lots of room-I brought home a loveseat in it! It is so-o easy to get in and out of.

    2005 Pontiac Aztek - FWD

    Pros: styling and roominess

Cons: the double rear doors are difficult to unlock via the dash and carkey switches

Advice: buy the '03 to '05 - nothing earlier. Accept it for WHAT it is; don't compare it w/ other SUVs

I bought 1 of the last ones in the KC area in 4/06. The 'tek has a an edgy look that wins over a certain kind of driver. I see lots of them in Kansas. Mine is refrigerator white with a black/gray interior. It is an all-purpose vehicle - fusing a station wagon w/ an SUV. It is built on a car chassis, not a truck. I wanted a roomy vehicle but not a luxury one, and I like the higher rise of the vehicle, like a truck. The rear seats come out easily to give you a 'big box' for hauling. I could care less about deluxe features of other SUVs. For me the basic Aztek fit the bill. I find the engine has sufficient performance, though I have yet to load the car up with lots of weight. It is nimble enough in handling. The side mirrors compensate for the split rear window for bacward visibility.

    2005 Pontiac Aztek - FWD

    Pros: The Plasmaglow dashboard

Cons: finding comment's from fools who never drove one.

Advice: Don't listen to those fools who never drove an Aztec before. Get the 17 inch alloys.

I set out to buy myself the ugliest car on the planet thinking that robbers won't bother touching anything so ugly. When I saw the Aztec at Carmax Henderson, that stupid impression when out the window. This thing is PREEEETTTY! Tight and cool, its somewhere between the new batmobile and an armored personnel carrier. Amazingly, its always the women who tell you how cool it is. I got the 2004 Aztec Rally. This crossover rocks. Its got a red plasmaglow dashboard by Johnson Controls of NASA. You'll know what I mean when you drive it at night. Holy batmobile. Dusk-sensing automatic headlights...totally idiot proof. It even turns itself off when you leave the car. Doors lock automatically. FWD with Traction Control...sweet acceleration baby. Front and side airbags...standard. How many cars can claim a 4-star rollover safety rating? Aztec was the first. Did I mention a 10 speaker Pioneer premium sound system w/ steering wheel and rear cargo area controls. Performance? It has a wickedly small turning radius. Accelerates nicely and robustly while still getting decent gas mileage. Ride is silky smooth, it shields you from most road bumps and wind noise. You have to turn off the sound system at times to check if the car is running. Its that quiet. Kudos to the engineers. They weren't kidding when they said they build excitement. Looking at the 2004 model, I don't see why people are calling it butt-ugly. Well most of those comments came from those who have never driven one, much less own a Pontiac. I have 1990 Grand Am LE and its still running smoothly. This Aztec is light years ahead of anything when it was introduced. My advice is to get bigger tires if you got the 15 & 16 inch ones. It does look cool with 17 inch alloys. Oh, and that cargo space for 4 X 8 foot plywood slabs...they weren't kidding. Wild options you won't find in more expensive but boring look-alike SUV's......try the Eyecue Heads Up Dipslay or the Tent & Air Mattress package. Believe me, once you've driven an Aztec, everything else driving around you is blah. Aztecs have a strong cult following here in Las Vegas where the wild things roam. In a city where seeing Porsche's, RR Phantoms and Bentley's are almost a common thing, I'm surprised that people here have nice words for the Aztec. This crossover is BEAUTIFUL. Don't listen to those who never owned one.

    2005 Pontiac Aztek - FWD

    Pros: the seats

Cons: only 1 key opening for the door..the drivers side

    Advice: don't waste your money

i have had to have the transmission replaced, brakes and rotary replaced and other repairs for a 2005 vehicle...so the driving experience has not been good for me.

    2005 Pontiac Aztek - FWD

    2002 Pontiac Aztek - FWD

Pros: Radical Appearance and Awesome Utility!

Cons: Rear hatch never opens unless you hit it a couple times....

Advice: Make sure that you really check over the AWD models, they have many more problems.

I have wanted one of these since GM announced their soon arrival in 1999. Two years later and the gray body cladded vehicle was out.. and I was in love. Last year I bought a VW New Beetle, and after one year I took the loss and moved up to an 02 Aztek. I couldn't be happier. So much more room inside, better looks, and just overall satisfied with fit and finish. Yes, people laugh and say 'ew' or just don't appreciate it, but they just won't accept that it's the first cross-over utility vehicle, and by far still one of the best. Unfortunately they stopped making them for model year '06, but there are still 05's out there with your name on them!!

    2004 Pontiac Aztek - AWD

    Pros: Lots of inside space

Cons: I can here the wheels turning in the rear and doesn't to me get good gas mileage

Advice: Nice SUV for the price and room.

Had to get use to the funny shape of the rear windows
