2002 Oldsmobile Alero - GLS Sedan
Submitted on 1/7/2007 4:44:35 PM- Summary
Pros: The comfortable leather seats
Cons: The headlights
Advice: It's a great car especially for young college students who love speed.
Within a matter of minutes, I knew that this was the car for me. For one thing, I love a smooth acceleration and this car just meet my need for speed. The seats are just right; cozy and comfortable enough just for traveling. I have always wanted an Alero and now that I have one I am so satisfy each day that I take that drive to college. OH YEAH!!! this car is one hot ride. I call this baby my sports car.

Submitted on 3/11/2006 2:54:00 PM- Summary
Pros: The 3400 SFI V6, interior, exterior, rack and pinion steering
Cons: It's hard to check the Trans Fluid by yourself, you'll have to get under the car
Advice: When broken in well(I bought mine off my mom), this engine is a rocket
I love this car. It's good looking, responsive on the road, and fast in a straight line too. Hey, I beat a Mercedes... Great car for those looking at a cheap used 4 door or 2 door sub compact.

Pros: saftey
Cons: Cupholders
Advice: Just test drive it first..the choice then will be easy!!!
This is a n excellent car for the money. Feels heavier and more expensive than it is. Had a head on collision in one and walked away! Purchased a new one and drove 85000 miles without one issue! Stylish, handles well and very comfortable with a great sound system. Cupholders are a minus. Love this car, would highly recommend it! Well done Alero!!!

Pros: exterior design
Cons: Visibility of the rear
Advice: Make sure you get all drivers to test drive. Some people love the ride, some don't.
Pros: Loved the feel of the steering wheel. It's a nice tight, sporty feel. Very good handling, reasonably smooth ride. Also performs very well. Can't ask for much more for a compact sedan. Cons: Dashboard has cheap, plastic feel. You have to close the trunk quite hard for it to stay closed.

2003 Oldsmobile Alero - GL1 Sedan
Submitted on 4/30/2003 5:00:57 AM- Summary
Pros: Radio
Cons: Transmission
Advice: I only have 750 miles on the vehicle, it seemed like a nice car, but it failed on me........
I purchased a 2003 Alero GL1 with a 4 cylinder engine. It seemed like a good car for the first 750 miles. One day I got onto the expressway going 65mph, then the rpms jump up to about 5500 and my speed was slowing down, like I was in neutral.... When it slowed down to 40mph I manuelly shifted it down into 3rd gear and I was able to make it to the next exit going about 45mph at 5500rpms. After I stopped I took off in Drive, but it would not shift out of 1st gear, so I had to manuelly shift to 2nd,and 3rd. Then I stopped again and when I took off in Drive it began working normal again... I drove straight to the dealer and they are suppose to look at it today and let me know what is wrong with it....?? That is not good if the transmission is shot after 750 miles on a vehicle, they said maybe it might be a computer problem, it still is not good. They did rent a Ford Escort for me to drive while I wait for them to figure the problem out.......????????
