2006 Nissan Xterra - Off Road (M6) 4x4
Pros: The whole unit
Cons: When I have to step down and not driving it.
Advice: Don't buy 2WDI have 2006 Off Road 4x4 since July2006. Now it has 25000Km passed trough dry, hot, rain, snow, ice and mud. Nothing to say, but Excellent. All the automatic features worked perfect. Takes a lot of abuse and does not get decivilized. One car wash and looks like a pearl coming from car show.
2005 Nissan Xterra - S (M6) 4x4
Cons: very scrachable plastic in rear cargo area
Advice: get a cargo matThis truck has plenty of get up and go, after a year it still impresses me.
2006 Nissan Xterra - SE (A5) 4x2
Pros: Its ruggedness, footsteps on the bumpers, tow bar, and lots of room in the back. And, the ease of taking out the back seats in 30 seconds!!
Cons: Trying to change the frickin' oil!
Advice: No teenagers, no one with a lead foot, and don't waste time with a standard transmission265 HP engine is way too much for the short-wheel base of this vehicle. Way too much torque. When you punch it, the steering wheel jerks a little, because it pulls way too hard too fast. My wife wrecked hers because of this. Would be ok for someone who wasn't a lead foot though. Lots of room in the back seat, and is the perfect vehicle for camping and playing around. Very tall interior. This is NOT a family vehicle. Big Tires are kinda loud, and it does ride a little more stiff than the Pathfinder.
2002 Nissan Xterra - SE (M5) 4x2

Advice: get the superchargedIt was ok but i seriously hate the pick up it sucks
2005 Nissan Xterra - SE (A5) 4x4
Pros: Motor and stereo

Advice: Go for it!Quite snappy initially with a bit of a dead spot and then v8 like power. Back seating excellent. Quite capable off road.
2005 Nissan Xterra - SE (A5) 4x2
Advice: go for this sweet babyacceleration is awesome, leaves everybody behind when infront of a traffic light ready to turn green, powerful, rugged, versatile, lots of space...my very first SUV and really love it
2004 Nissan Xterra - XE (M5) 4x4
Pros: Exterior styling, ride, ruggedness
Cons: The seats - the weave has come lose twice, but the dealer replaced the seat covers.
Advice: Buy it, drive it thru the mud, go off roading. It ROCKS!!!My husband and I purchased our 2004 Nissan Xterra brand new in 2005 (left over stock). We were having issues with a Pathfinder we bought a few years before, it had horrible transmission problems, and we needed to be done with it. We drove the Xterra and fell in love. I personally LOVE a truck feel, versus the luxury SUV feel. I always worried about towing the boat with our Pathfinder, and it wasnt a very rugged vehicle for putting around in the mud up at the lake. The Xterra is GREAT for towing, you can get it muddy, even on the inside, and clean it up with no problem. We love it!!! We have had NO problems with the vehicle thus far, and I lOVE driving it, everyday, to work and back. The engine isnt a very powerful one, but sometimes, that can be a good thing, especially when you have a lead foot like I do...It does have a bouncy ride, which is great if you really WANT a truck, but need an SUV for family reasons....I wouldnt trade my Xterra for any other SUV in the world, well, maybe except for a NEW Xterra some day....I highly recommend it for the active family looking for something rugged....Warning: the weave on the seats seems to snag easily, which is definately a draw back, since this is supposed to be a 'rugged vehicle'. I recommend getting some type of seat covers immediately, to preserve your seats...Especially if you have kiddos...
