Nissan Motor Company is a Japanese auto manufacturer that produces a large portfolio of passenger vehicles. Nissan owns the Infiniti luxury brand, as well as the Datsun brand of entry level and sport compact cars, which was discontinued and then resurrected in 2013. The Nissan brand is responsible for most of the variety in the company’s overall model lineup, and Nissan trucks and pickups are an important part of the brand’s versatility. Nissan is among the largest auto manufacturers in the world, with production facilities situated around the globe, including manufacturing locations in the United States. Nissan vehicles, including Nissan trucks, are sold in many countries around the world.

One such example of a Nissan pickup truck is the Nissan Titan, which is closely mechanically related to the Nissan Frontier truck and the Nissan Armada sport utility vehicle. This truck entered production in 2003, for release as a 2004 model year vehicle. It is produced in Canton, Mississippi, in the United States, and most Nissan Titans are sold in the North American market, although it was not designed to challenge the turf of domestic branded trucks that were designed and built in Detroit. Instead, the Titan was intended to strengthen the Nissan brand and perhaps pave the way for other Nissan pickups. The Nissan Titan is particularly popular in the southwest, and consumers in Texas account for a significant percentage of the model’s sales. The Titan is a full size Nissan pickup truck, available in a variety of configurations. The Nissan Titan can be purchased with a two-door cab or a four-door cab with a full size back seat. It’s a front-engine truck and comes with both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options. The Nissan Titan comes equipped with a 5.6-liter 32-valve V8 engine, paired to a five-speed automatic transmission, which yields 317 horsepower. Nissan offers several trim levels on this Nissan truck, with a top level trim providing a variety of comfort and luxury features.

Another model in the Nissan pickup truck line is the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier is the vehicle’s name for the Western Hemisphere markets; elsewhere, it’s called the Nissan Navara. The Nissan Frontier pickup shares some platform and mechanical components with the Nissan Xterra and Pathfinder sport utility vehicles. This mid size Nissan truck has been in production since 1997, and, like the Titan, is available with a two-door or a four-door cab. Like other models in the Nissan truck line, the Frontier is now produced primarily for North America, so Nissan has moved its assembly to Smyrna, Tennessee.
