2007 Nissan Sentra - 2.0S (M6)
Pros: Roomy and comfortable
Cons: Tacky beige fabric, some options are pricey
Advice: You can get similar interior space and performance from Nissan VersaThe 2007 Sentra is much more attractive, comfortable and roomy than the repulsive earlier versions. The CVT transmission, Bluetooth, Intelligent Key and leather are nice touches that are very rare in a car of this class. It has decent handling and acceleration, but doesn't seem as agile as the Civic because of it's higher weight. Back seat is roomy, good headroom. Trunk is very large, has a divider that makes a hidden compartment. 2.0L engine has more torque than competitors, but same 140hp as 1.8L Civic, which probably has slightly higher efficiency. Overall, this car would be a more contemporary, luxurious alternative to Civic, which has a sportier inside/outside appearance and slightly better handling.
2007 Nissan Sentra - 2.0 (M6)

2006 Nissan Sentra - S State) (M5)
Cons: emission light problem & rust.
Advice: look carefully and consider Mazda as an alternative.I have a 2000 sentra (this site kept defaulting to 2006) anyways. The car has bee reliable however the check engine light has been on for 3 years now for emissions. I took it to a dealer and after two days and $400 Armory Garage in Albany said it was fixed. The NEXT DAY it came back on. I called them and they said if it was the same exact code their would be no charge, otherwise I'd be forced to pay for more labor at $90/hr and parts. I said no thank you and complained to Nissan and got no response. This year I ran into a friend that has a 2001 Nissan Sentra and her engine emissions light goes on and off all the time. To me this sounds like is a manufacturing problem. The car also is rusting and the AC is now gone. I am going to trade it in this fall most likely for a Mazda 3.
2006 Nissan Sentra - SE-R Spec V State - ) (M6)
Pros: 6 speed
Advice: buy it and be safevery fast for a stock family car
2004 Nissan Sentra - SE-R Spec V (50 State) ULEV (M6)
Cons: Torque Steer
Advice: Don't expect a beast, just a nice fun car that still offers some practical features. It's a nice ride, feels smooth despite the performance suspensoin and it accerlates nicely. The new sentra models for the 07 are really driving down the price of these soon to be outdated models. Great value.
2003 Nissan Sentra - GXE (50 State) (M5)
Cons: The reliability is substandard at best.
Advice: AVOID THIS CARI bought my 2003 Sentra in November of 2002. Since that time, I've kept up with the regular scheduled maintenance and only put 50,000 miles on it. I've already had to replace tires, brakes, a mistooled rotor, and now all of the belts and the power steering pump. (Not to mention the sound system was totally ridiculous. The speakers couldn't even handle the factory installed radio.) THIS IS THE BIGGEST LEMON EVER! This car has been babied and yet it still has all these issues. I hate to imagine what damage would have been done had I had driven it hard at all. This is my second Nissan and my LAST. Reliability....HA!! Avoid this car. Reliability is not what is claimed, service is costly and takes forever, you are treated rudely if your car isn't under warranty (Nissan feels NO obligation to you as a buyer once the warranty is up.) For all the repair and maintenance costs, I've lost any cost savings that I hoped buying this model would give me. I won't make that mistake again.
2005 Nissan Sentra - S (50 State) ULEV (M5)
Pros: automatic transmission
Cons: seating comfort
Advice: Make sure to check with Honda or toyota before considering NissanReview is for a 2004, not the 2005 model. I have finally got to hate this car, first, the radio did not work, second, my mileage is 23 city/ 29 hwy, third, engine vibrates, fourth, the ac turns on as I go to use my defogger and can't be turned off unless the engine is turned off, and fifth and last, I have taken this car four times to the nissan dealer to have them fix a water leak sipping into the trunk, so far, the car continues to have the water leaking, and I am now driving a rent a car meanwhile waiting for mine to be fixed. I will never buy another nissan, and a lemon law suit is on the way.
